turbo motors should always be ran with synthetic. they resist the breakdown caused by the excess heat from the turbo better than dino oils. A search would have shown you that.

for cold weather 10W30 is ok, but I would say that in warmer temps at least 10W40 should be used, during the summer I run 15W50, it helps resist thinning better and keeps oil temps lower and idle pressure higher even after 2 hour stints at 85 mph on the freeway in 100 degrees, ive also noticed lower temps with the 15W50 during auto X than with the 10W40.

Mobile 1 is not a "true" synthetic anymore. There's thread somewhere about mobile 1.

It is a synthetic but there are diff grades of synthetic. No motor oil available on the shelf at a major retailer is a 100% synthetic. A true 100% man made synthetic oi is used by a lot of major race divisions and is $60 per liter and up. 1l is 1.03 quarts.

Mobil 1 is a Grade 3 oil. AMS/Hastings is Grade 4Royal Purple/Motul is a grade 5

These grades refer to the amount of natural oil that is used for a base. The higher the grade the less natural oil used (and the more synthetic man-made components used in the final product).

For further info go to http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html Keep in mind he is in the UK and some of the info is misleading but 95% of it is valuable and true information.
