i finally got my car running again after 2 bent valve incidents about 1 month ago... long story short, i had to swap out 2 separate heads. so finally, i got it started!

built motor with stock rods, 248 232 cams, 14psi, 480cc injectors on a t3/t04e with MSD BTM retarding .5 degrees per psi. i took it for a stroll down the street from a second gear roll, i punched it boost would climb (not the pull i expected out of 14psi) and near redline, about 5.5k rpms, the car would fall flat on its face like i hit rev limiter! it even sounded like revlimiter because i was bouncing off it. cant be the plug gap because i gapped the fresh plugs at .028...

3 blocks, 4 heads later... and im still having stupid problems. t-bolt clamped all the intercooler piping so there CANT be a way that i cant have boost leak... anyone figure this out?

at 14 psi .028" of a gap isn't goin to cut it. i'm running .025" gap right now and its barely cutting it.

if it still doesn't work try running some magnacor or taylor upgraded igntion wires. that was what made my misfire go away. also to see if it really is a misfire, just lower the boost to see if it goes away.

with the amount of boost your running, if your coil is marginal, it may not be able to keep up. A stronbger coil or ignition amplifier may be necessary.

Have you tried running the coil straight to bat using a relay? There is a write-up on it in the sticky. Best of luck, man, I hope it works for you this time!

+1....before I gapped my plugs low, I had the exact same problem as

Sunny....also, maybe invest in some nice NGK Iridium IXs and a nice set of plug wires (8+ mm) and see if that helps...

Yes and no.

If it only takes 14 psi to make 400whp then yes its ok...

But if it takes you 35 psi to hit 400 whp... stock ignition wont support that much pressure.. It will just blow out..

well, i upgraded from regular NGK plugs to NGK iridiums. i can rev a lil further than 5k... more like 5.5k now. still doesnt feel fast as much as 14psi should feel... maybe theres some more boost leaks.

yes and no. It all depends on the tunning and turbo specs. Is your boost gauge reading 14 psi..??

Next question is if u did ever hit 14 psi and know what it feels like and now u r still hitting 14 psi but it doesnt quite feel the same, then u obviously have a problem somewhere.

boost gauge does hit 14psi. i could never really tune it so afr's would be all out of whack. ive never hit 14psi, just the wastegate is set at 14psi.

i also tried to reset base timing. but everytime i unplug the TPS while the car is off, then turn it back on, the car would start but then just die out... it will only turn back on and stay on if the TPS is plugged in

i also threw a CEL which was code 21 (ignition signal). would wiring a MSD BTM which caused me to cut a transitor, caused me to throw this code? internal coil... weird stuff
