While it's true that ANYTHING will reflect radar, some vehicles do it much better than others. My old memory is jiggering me about a test Car and Driver did quite a few years back on which cars are better against radar. Corvette was by far the best. As best I can recall, a good return wasn't probable over something like 200'. Most other vehicles were a LOT further.

I drove new Corvettes for many years. I can attest to the fact that they are quite stealthy. I avoided radar traps many times when cops had a bevy of victims pulled over. Anecdotal? Sure, but my experience is my experience, and it was repeated many times.

Just from observations on California freeways Corvettes are usually not the fastest cars on the road, in fact they are many times going slower than the average car. I attribute this to two things. One, they stand out like a sore thumb and attract cops. Second, they sit so low that the driver can't see over the cars in front of him so can't look for holes in the traffic to bob and weave in and out. In fact on a crowded freeway I can usually make the fastest time in my full size GMC van because I sit so high and can see which lanes are moving the fastest hundreds of yards in advance and switch to the fastest moving lane.

Just have to tell you guys this story -- I am going to pick my daughter up from work late at night -- merging onto I-75 at about 75, into fast lane, cruising at normal 85, some motorhead comes up behind me and rides my arse -- well, not to be outdone, I push it up to 95, then 105 -- he doesn't budge. So I do what any polite driver would do and turn-signal over to middle lane.... Here come da law!! Lights and sirens... When he came up to the window, I had my hand on my chest and told him, "Thank God it's you -- I was really scared and didn't know what to do!!" Cop let me off w/ a ticket for not obeying the traffic signs... $90 ticket. Not bad, but I watch out for those mysterious motorheads at night now...

You should have gotten over the first time. Man I hate people who drives slow in the fast lane . I flash my lights until I get tired. If people want to cruise, get in the slow lane.
