4 left. Wouldn't be very difficult to swap tips, just cut and weld new one on.

Received my exhaust from UPS today and bolted it on. Loving the deep throaty sound in higher gears while cruising around town at 40-50mph. Those 1st couple gears it can be a bit loud so trying to get used to that.

Will record a sound clip and post tmrw.

Thanks again Jimme

Usually a new exhaust has a "break in" period where the sound will gradually "smooth" out.

Any1 here with e114 exhaust using megan y pipe or any kind of hi flow cats? Or any aftermarket ypipe at all? Does it make it much louder?

Do you guys know if HR Y pipe is better option than our stock Y? Those go for cheap and the size seems to be good (2,5?) and stock M y-pipe is less than 2 in some places is that correct?

Replacing the Y pipe with a larger diameter Y pipe is def better and if you could get headers and HFC or test pipes would be the best flow.

Installed Megan Y its originally made for 370z, good fit but few days later i got bad rattle when accelerating gently or braking. Im gona take it to muffler shop i dont think its a big deal.
Outside of the car it sounds the same : no rasp, nice growl but inside it got much louder when accelerating on highway its too loud for me. I might change gaskets and talk to muffler specialists if nothing works ill put oem Y back. Oh and it feels like i lost some power in midrange you hit the gas at 2k rpm and its soo loud but the car not really moving lol

Hey guys,
so i installed the exhaust on my m35x the other week. sounds great, but a bit to loud for my taste(i'll have to live with it:)) ).
It was a very easy install, however i get a rattle coming from the heat shield even after i pushed it away from the mid-pipe. How did you guys make sure that the heat shields don't touch the new exhaust and don't make noise?!

hit it in a few spots with your hand to try and loosen any debris that might be stuck in between. you can also try bending it to different angle and see if that helps.

well...that's pretty much what i did. I made sure the shield does not touch neither the body nor the exhaust. I actually bent the shield in, as it was resting on the exhaust. Do you guys think its "dangerous" to remove it altogether?!

I don't think it would be a problem. I have my air lines above my exhaust and it hasn't melted lol. I'd say its about 3-4" above the piping and no problems yet. My only other suggestion would be to maybe remove them and try tightening them back up and see if that works.
