The last time I closed my moonroof the drivers side window rolled down approx 1/3 the way as it was closing. I closed the window again and thought nothing of it until today.

I just got home and while closing the moonroof the drivers side window went down 1/3 of the way. Every time I try to close the window now it opens again right away. Tried shutting the vehicle off quickly but it still rolls down with the vehicle off.

I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and gave it another try. I still get the problem and additionally, now both of the switches for the moon roof retract it rather than one retracting and the other inclining.

what the hell is going on!?!?

The problem has disappeared with my hopes of diagnosing it...

Funny, last week whenever I would hit the auto-up switch on the driver side for the passenger window, it would go all the way up, then come back down 1/4 of the way- every time. Now it doesn't do it. Weird.

It sounds like the pinch protection feature on moonroof and front windows (not sure if back windows have that feature). I think someone here described how to adjust (or reset) the pinch sensor to bring it back to work...

That's the exact same thing I had. Mine stopped as well.

...BUT...

Today the window gremlins are back! I got out of work to find both my front windows down about 90% of the way. Good thing I don't work in a bad part of the city otherwise I'd be replacing a hell of a lot of tools and audio equipment.

I am at a complete loss. Next weekend perhaps I will rip the door apart and start inspecting everything.

sounds a lot like my front passenger side window on a rainy/foggy day

is there a way to deactivate that pinch protection device? maybe by pulling a fuse or something?

Looks like your problem went away, but there is a reset technique for all the windows in the qx/pathy

You have to do things in a certain order, and everything goes back to normal. Ive had to do it because of my sunroof and passenger window a few times now.

Do you remember the technique off hand?

No thats not it, theres a specific one for the sunroof. Youd have to search for it, but NISTECH was the one who gave the solution I remember.

Wheres that constant crackling.rattle noise coming from? Is your car shaking?

I have no idea what would cause the needles to move like that

That's odddddd. What happens if you disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few minutes and reconnect it. Does the problem persist?
