I was watching the CNN feed online and was surprised to learn that NPR, FOX, and ABC had all called CT for Blumenthal - turns out $50million (a per capita record for campaign spending) doesn't buy you an election, Linda McMahon, even in a Republican-favored election. Forget about projecting, they just hadn't actually called the sucker at all. CNN seems to be taking the careful route with the election.
Apparently you also need to be a decent candidate with the ability to speak about issues when asked.
Also: big issues with CT's ballots, in many parts of the state. That's a story that's still unfolding, but the City of Bridgeport has 69,000 registered voters, and the Registrar of Voters ordered 21,000 ballots for the city. Secretary of State of CT has said she told Registrars of Voters to order a 1-for-1 ratio of ballots, so we can see where the blame is headed. Just can't figure out why. Polls in 9 or 12 districts of Bridgeport have been extended to be open to 10:00PM, instead of 8:00PM.
This could have an effect on the Gubernatorial election or on the House race for that district (one of the tightest House races in the Nation).
