Thanks for the offer LBC... I actually have a friend who owns a shop 5 mins from my house that does all my painting and install work. I got the Stillen Front Lip and Mustach painted and installed for $150 and he's telling me he'll install the Sway Bar and Springs for same price ($200). I'm tempted to take him up on his other offer of a clear bra (it would come up a little bit past the headlights) for $500. With the terrible roads in NYC and the winter and salt coming... I'm tempted to get it. Just figuring out where I will come up with the cash.LongBeachCoupe wrote:Sith i think my tech will install both for around $200 if your interested.Welcome to the LOW LIFE!
For anything that I've brought across the border in the $200 range, UPS has charged me between $50-70. My splitter (which is an "oversized" item) cost me $195...and UPS nailed me with an extra $88 upon delivery.headhunt3r wrote:For the Canadian owners,
I emailed Stillen and got a reply back, shipping to Vancouver is $30, and of course this does not include taxes / duty. Does anyone have any idea how much I'd get hit on the tax / duty part if i were to pull the trigger? I'm contemplating this vs. a shipping company in the states just across the border since I'm so close.
No duty on goods manufactured in the US, but you can't get around taxes (GST) and brokerage fees that UPS will charge to clear the package through customs. The taxes of course depend on value, but the brokerage fees are more consistent in my experience. I bought an exhaust system from Stillen several months ago. The exhaust cost me $1,000, shipping was $170.00, and taxes and brokerage fees were $125.00. So if the tax was $50.00 for GST (the federal guys won't collect a provincial tax unless you're in a province with HST), that means brokerage fees were $75.00. As a comparison, Canada Post, as slow as they are, charges $5.00 to clear a package through customs.ESP wrote:I'm just a little confused on the whole NAFTA thing though...if parts (such as body kits, etc) are made in the US, we shouldn't have to pay for duty on them when they come up to Canada...right?
Can't wait... cuz eventually I'll want the RSB to compliment the Eibach springskyle@stillen wrote:To touch back on the Canadian shipping topic...
We talked about it again today and we have a few ideas on how to handle this in the future. Unfortunately we might not have a definitive solution until AFTER this group buy. This new program would be part of a new BIGGER program that is about to be put into place.
