Its not the filter (which is probably due for replacement anyway, so do it). Its the hoses. Head to your local Autozone and buy the CORRECT SIZE (MUST BE CORRECT SIZE DO A SEARCH OR READ THE FSM DON'T JUST EYEBALL IT) fuel hoses to attach to your new fuel filter. Get new clamps too.unknown007 wrote:keep that in mind. The smell of gas in the car would be because of that right?or what filter was it?I bet it hasn't been changed in years so im jumping on it since i smell gas everytime i turn the heater on but whats the price of the bulk in most cases?
Replacing the hoses is not a bad idea, especially since there are so many crap additives in most fuels nowadays.unknown007 wrote:edit:maybe it's a fuel line thats loose when i changed the valve cover gasket.I was thinking of replacing all hoses too.
It happens with it not on either so maybe it is that.anlasak wrote:

The high pressure fuel hose around intake runner #8 have a bad habit of leaking ever so slightly when they get old enough and providing one with very nasty smelling ventilation from the dash when the a/c is turned on .
