I saw this, and immediately before clicking the link i thought "this is gonna be a gold car..... " Then it was a white/white, nice, very rare for a 94!

I live down here in Miami and could check it out for somebody only if they are dead serious about this car as my time is limited. It is an unsualy color combo and the interior does look like it has only 34K on it.

The interior is AMAZING!

Looks like it's brand new! I'm impressed that the owner was able to maintain a "white" interior so well...

I wish I would have read your post before buying the car. I would have definitely taken you up on your offer.

Yep, I bought the car. It's coming to Atlanta, hopefully by this Friday. After a weekend of fun driving (I hope...) it'll be dropped off at T3 for a complete evaluation. After that I guess we'll know what I dropped $8500+ on.

If you guys are interested, I'll post some pics and impressions as soon I get the car and take it for a spin.

Two thumbs up...big time.

Compared with what else you could buy for $8,500 this is a steal. I'm honestly surprised it didn't go for more $$. I seriously thought about bidding, especially since I'm about to spend a couple grand on tires, brakes and suspension (not to mention the 200k transmission I'm sitting on).

You gotta blow out the blue-hair and Geritol smell. South Florida...37k miles...I'll bet this car has never seen 90 mph.

Man, if it smells like Geritol, I'm gonna barf

You're prolly right on though. It's spent its whole life in W. Palm Beach. Probably never made it past the golf course parking lot.

WAIT!! I just got a voice mail from the original owners. Listen......http://www.carlspackler.com/sounds/019.mp3

Oh yeah, it's them alright!

Good stuff!

I can't wait to hear more about this car... I bought my current Q in 2000 with 47K, so I can agree that there is certainly something special about buying a "new old car".

Be sure to take it by T3 and make sure Dennis (Q45Tech) is there... I'm sure he would like to take a look at it!

That's the way I see it - Few other cars would give you that much style, comfort and performance for the same amount of money. Heck of a deal, IMO.

What a beauty, the 94' was always my fav in first gen. Now bag those pie pan 15" rims for at least some knock off 17" 2nd gen rims and you're stylying. I will bet you need to flush out all fluids and replace belts as they are probably old just due to 12 years, but I bet you get a quality 200k more out of the car. Nice score.

Looks like the set of 18" Murano wheels are still available for $300 and shipping...

zerothread/190321

IMO these are some of the best-looking wheels on a Q.

I know I got my 1995 Q45t with 26K in 2002. At least one knows with a service history if the mechanicals have been abused or not. Rubber can be replaced.

Yes, tell Dennis for sure.

Yeah, I'll definitely touch down with Dennis and see if he's interested in checking it out. Regardless, I'll have T3 replace all the fluids and filters and inspect it carefully. I know it has an intermittment problem with one of the lock actuators.

The dealer had it checked over by the local shop and they replace a couple burned out bulbs and replaced one of the hood struts.

Hopefully it'll get picked up today or tomorrow so I can have it by the weekend. I'm really looking forward to driving it on a road trip.

It would be interesting to determine the status of the rear shocks --- 12 years old vs 37/60 or 61% worn out?

Dennis,

Which location should I take it to, or does it matter? I'm closest to Decatur but can get the car to any one of them.

Thanks!!

Hey Bret. What happened on your e-bay bid for the Q45? The car is being offered to me as a second chance buyer. Did you check out the car and something was not right with it? I AM A DIALYSIS PATIENT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANYBODY'S INPUT ON THIS VEHICLE. THANKS

Bought and paid for, my man. Got a copy of the title, a signed buyers order and the FL warranty disclaimer right here in me hot little hands.

Good luck with the kidney!

A lot of scams on eBay. Report the email to eBay to check its authenticity.

Finally got the thing tonight. As soon as it comes off the car carrier and I get it on my driveway for a fluids check, it starts raining. It's dark when the rain stops. So no pix till tomorrow.

First impressions:

*Exterior not as good as I hoped. There's paintwork on the RR door and some on the nose. Plenty of scuffs and door dings. Scuff on the LF bumper cover. Scrape on the LR corner. Nothing horrible but not a showroom-new 37K car either.

*There is light corrosion on unprotected metals. Probably due to spending its life near the ocean. Wheels have corrosion spots, metal door handles have pits, light surface corrosion on lots of other parts. I expected some of this but was still a bit surprised.

*Overall paint condition is excellent. Sure, it has swirls but no faded spots, no clearcoat damage, no nasty orange peel. The color is a pearl white metallic which changes hues slightly as the sun hits it. Won't be the most reflective but it'll look nice all detailed up.

*Interior is about 75% off white and needs cleaning. The usual stains, spots and dirty areas but nothing horrible. Leather needs conditioning badly. Other than a little discoloring on a few spots, the interior looks virtually new.

*Motor starts right up and idles smoothly. Trans shifts smooth and firm. No smoke, noise, or weird smells. It needed an oil change really bad so I did that. Christ, the oil filter is in the most hard-to-reach area I've ever seen. Took me an hour to figure out how to get my hand in there, get out the old filter and get the new one in. Sump takes about 6.5 qts with a new filter so plenty of oil capacity.

*Check Engine light came on after about 15 mins of driving, including some hard revving. Didn't notice anything wrong; shut off engine and it started right up again. CEL went out but came back on after another 15 mins.

*Car wallows when driving over uneven road surfaces. Probably has bad shocks and struts. The cheezy Cooper Spongeliner tires prolly aren't helping matters. I'll slap on a set of Michelin Pilot Exalto's ASAP and have the suspension checked out.

*LF tweeter and mid bass are not working but the Bose stereo bumps! Plenty of power to crank hard. Needs a CD changer, only has radio+cassette. Radio has terrific FM reception.

*RF power door lock acutator is dead. Center console switch for RF window doesn't work.

I'll post pics as soon as I can. I need to get it to T3 ASAP because the CEL will prevent me from getting the car smogged and I'll need that cert to get it titled and licensed. I hope T3 can smog it for me.

More news as it breaks......

Honestly, for $8,500, I think I'd be disappointed if the exterior was anything short of flawless.

Sounds like you still probably have one of the nicest G50's in the country though, enjoy it.

Dropped it off at T3 Smyrna today. Ty said everyone's is going to want to drive it since they don't see too many 37K miles G50's.

He said the intermittent speaker issue is going to be ongoing. They came on today when I was sitting in traffic so I'll have to live with it.

CEL came on then shut off so who knows what is causing that problem.

Anyway, I asked them to go over it with a fine toothed comb and let me know what they find.

The next news report should be interesting....
