im prolly wrong. i thought i read in one of the descriptions of a SAFC that it had 2 tunable fuel maps. i must be thinking of the hi-low throttle position settings

Flame thrower security systems are in South Africa according to a friend of mine who lived there. They have the baddest crime and the baddest anti-crime stuff there. I plan on going standalone engine management with a good pager alarm. I figure i can set up a TON of kills, nobody would be able to steal my car unless they drove it off on a flatbed and knew lots about my particular install. If they pull that off, i'd just have to give em props. Then i would just have to get the insurance company to believe my car was worth 10k, that would be harder than stealing a car with a full standalone+alarm.

Has anyone seen the episode of SNL where they have the Camel-eon car. it looks like pure crap on the outside but its a luxury car on the inside. My car has that effect. Two colors, unpainted wing, and peeling tint. nobody would steal my car. So when i get it painted and do a few more mods, im gonna rig it so onyl i can get in. my dad is really good with electronics, so we'll be able to wire up kill switches and stuff like that.

I was at a junkyard and actually tried myself to pry the rear "half window"(whatever the hell it's called) off. Yep, came right off, silently. Just need a screw driver.

Had a Civic, it was broken into 3 times, twice they stole stereo and other items, 3rd time they slept and took some clothes/jacket.

Sorry, Civic's not the answer :(.

I'm toying with the idea of a kill switch (or 2 ;)), so if sombody could post a DIY guide, I'd be ecstatic.

hmm...yeah i just have a steering lock. However by crossing over to mexico, you can get a tactile kill switch..Which in essence activates every time you open the door. Then to deactivate, you must touch the ignition metal and a screw of your choice. It is extremely stealthy and I don't see anybody figuring it out. My dad's got it on both his trucks for like 25-50 each.

yea a kill switch could be realy easy to make for a car for the battery any way but it would probly reset the ecu every time which would be annoying if its anything like my dads audi :). if u disconnect the battery you have to put a password into the radio to get it to work but i dont suspect 240's have that feature also...

by tactile by the way, I mean you use your own body as the method of transporting electricity. So you touch two metal parts with your hands..

Just hire a 6'5" 300lb black guy with a shotgun to stand next to your car when its parked. Nobody will steal it, guaranteed. Forget about any vandalism. I bet you would even have the adjacent parking spaces free too.

Suggestions:

1) Compustar Alarm2) Clifford Alarm with a Screen Remote3) Siren with a built in battery4) GPS Tracking Device

P.S. Leave your car as a sleeper, if you drift and your car has all these dangs and paint chips and no seats and looks like crap on the inside with some crappy radio. No thief will touch that car, he wont even know you have a SR20 and $3 grand worth of suspension. He'll walk to the next car and will steal a civic with lots of stripes and decals and wings.

One other thing, if your planning taking out the steering wheel, they will come with their own steering wheel.

Remember the more reasons you give the thief to steal to more possibalities your car will get stolen.

that's a great way to have an almost perfect alarm system, and it won't cost a cent. plus you'll save yourself a lot of money in the long run.

that's what i'm doing with my next 240.

why does it have to be a black guy? And if you take the steering wheel off, so what, you can still drive it with a pair of pliers.

Personally, I dont think it matters.

Because If i saw a guy (black, mexican, white, whoever) All i know is he better run, thats all im saying.

And if someone stold the car, I dont think you will ever find out who it was, So i dont know if the racial criteria is an issue here. I dont think no of us would care what race the guy is, if his stealing our car. The first thing on our mind is beat his A$$
