Ok so my car is at 240k and my odometer is working on an off. I have taken apart my odometer before so if I could replace something on it I can do that. So what should I do? Is it possible to get a new odometer motor or do I need a whole new cluster and jack the motor from that?

Have you checked the VSS, and connections for corrosion?

Let me know how it works out for you. I need to do the same thing on mine, but I will most likely be swapping my US odometer to the silvia cluster I'm using.

It is the HUD cluster from a 93. Although the little motor for the odometer is probably the same in both.

And I would probably noticed random variations on my speedo if something in the VSS circuit was tripping so it probably isn't that.

OutToWinPAHC if you find them and want to sell just the odometer guts (the motor particularly) let me know the shipped price to 95672. Thanks!

Why get a new one? It helps with re-sale value, lol. Just kidding.

Just pick up a spare cluster out of a junkyard or something. I wouldn't be surprised if other Nissans around that year would work as well.

My pick-n-pull is so scarce of 240s. Usually the only ones there (about 2-5) have been picked clean and the local Nissan dismantlers are straight up robbers... Like $500 for ECU and $200 for a Distributor.

I have a spare cluster hanging around from my coupe, but the odometer in it was fritzy for the last 2 years I drove the car. It said 140K, but I bet it was more like 190.

Im starting to think this is a common problem.
