I like the s/c setup. I dont think ive seen a s/c with a shaft like that though. It has to stretch waaaaaay across the engine to get to the compressor :Dkinda different, but i approve. Im gonna test drive it tomorrow after i get these headers on my 240. Made up my mind.

wow, this car continues to impress me the more i hear about it. at first i thought it would just be "another car." i never thought it would have potential :)

its about damn time toyota makes a car that i like!

by the way, the Xa and Xb scions should not be compared to the Tc by the same standards even though they have the "scion" badge. they are completely different cars with completely different purposes.

that said, id rather have an Xb for a daily driver :D

It has a lot of design cues from other cars

I think the thing that stands out most is the new 5 series-ish headlights; the car looks like a lot of things.. but still looks alot different, that's what makes it DER UBER SEXY.

The glass roof is nice but it would make it top heavy like the double glass roofs on the mini coopers. New issue of SCC already shows a turbo kit in develpment for it....sigh (if only it weren't fwd)

Blah blah blah. FWD this and fwd that, go out and drive one. Just cause you can't drift it doesn't mean its not fun.

The TC is the USDM version of the Avensis, am I right?

Looks way more interesting than the other 2...especially w/the blower.

The Avensis is an upscale euro car.. the tC was built from the bottom up I believe, but it was done by Dr. Hori who also did the Celica, MR2 Spyder, Prius, and Avensis..

The Avensis is a 4 door, I don't think there is any platform sharing going on here..

Here is a quote from a writeup:

"One of the goals of the clean-sheet project for Dr. Hori was to bring a “new level of sophistication for cars in this class” and the efforts are noticeable inside as well as outside. (Translation: We’re going to give you a $20,000 car with $25,000 car features for $16,000.)"

Camry if i am not wrong is about 3300-3400. TC is about 2800-2900! But in another way yeah it is about 500lbs lighter

500 lbs is pretty significant. Anyway, I'm not quite on board with the styling. The roof is interesting, but otherwise I find it to be a typically bland Toyota US market offering.

Certainly can't argue with the bang for the buck factor, though. The interior looks decent too. How much is the car with the TRD supercharger?

The tail's actually still look like the latest Celica tail's. Just a little more "future" looking. That pic that was just posted of it reminds me so much of a Celica(I guess because its replacing the Celica duh) But if I didn't know that I'd be like "eh that car is totally rippin off a Celica" I think its the tail's and the body line going from the tail light to the head light. Conclusion- Its a more round Celica with a better powerplant, better front end, no Rice Package from Toyota, and the greatest part BLOWER! oh yeah and that glass top thingy, not a big fan of that though. Its a little too Jdm 2nd gen CR-X to me.
