Hello everyone , today I spent most of my time in a shop getting my D2 coilovers installed and changing my non sport M to a sport front end...
Everything went really smooth and simply love the cars new look and ride quality
Its like I purchased a brand new car today :)
My stock height from the ground was 28.1/4" Rear and 28" Front
now its at 27" rear and 26.3/4" front, settings are 20/20 but will have to make the front to 25 as its a little too soft . The ride quality is excellent !!!
Also now my 08 non sport front bumper is for sale ( will update previous thread on that matter). And possibly my headlights will be for sale. Now on to the pics.

Looks much lower in person .

Thank you guys :) yeah I really love the look.
Robert-> not yet, will do the mirrors next month
CPJLB-> nope everything is factory ( grills)
My M is 08 base , so the bumper fits perfect with stock everything else.

Thanks guys:)
CPJ LB> yup, everything plug nd play on 08 all holes align perfectly liners too. No gap by the headlight due to the correct size energy absorber.

Cabo> well I will leave it chrome for now and eventually paint it my cars color. If I paint the hood trim black the grill will look too big.

Partysan7, I"m thinking about doing the bumper swap on my 2010 as well. Does the sport bumper matchup/align to everything (fotlight assembly, etc) correctly? From what I've read so far, seems like a easy/bolt on swap. The only thing you need to make the swap is just the sport bumper right?

Yes everything is a perfect fit on the 08-10 models , all you need is the bumper cover and lower grille, plus fog light trims and possibly a new grille thats up to you but your current grille fits. All hardware can be taken from your current bumper.

Just a little update, purchased a few things that I plan to change up this coming spring just getting everything ready. BBK to come a swell just need to sell my Concept One wheels to gather some money for it.

What are the offset on the wheels?

And please don't roll the fenders, it'll look like crap :nono:

AME Shallen XF-55 2piece
F 20x9.5J et.25 3"lip
R 20x10J et.15 5"lip

Now I dont know how accurate the F&R bbk template is but for the front I will need atleast 10mm spacer probably better with 15mm due to LoDisk to clear front caliper which would get the offset to et.5-10 mm .
And the rear wheel just barely clears the rear akebono caliper maybe 5mm clearance there.
This wheel setup is not a 100%plug&play some effort will have to come in to make them fit without any issues.
Freddie were tou talking about not doing a fender pull ?!

no fender rolled in other words don't bend the lip

bodywork would be best

I dont think that this wheel setup is that aggressive that it involves bodywork, and its definetly something I will not be doing to the car, lots of camber streched tire and maybe a slight pull. To my calculations the rears are 1/8" less (more in) than the GTR wheels 10.5" et25, and I believe the guy running them said only rubbed a little over big bumps also he was/is on springs. Will see I will give it a try , if I have issues then some minor pull will come in place maybe a 1/8"-1/4 " or so...

it's not only the rubbing but even more important is how it looks.

Don't go by the tire go by how far the rear wheel sticks out pass the fender lip.

going lower will help with a little camber but too much camber will kill your tires quickly.

I would do body work if it was my car, at the end it would be best.

Cool stuff you're on D2's.

What I found was adjusting the dampers close to the same setting to be the best. Remember the spring rates are different between the front/rear so you don't have to consider weight on the dampers necessarily. For example I have my fronts at 27 and rears at 26.

Enjoy

I like the new wheels! Did you get em from a guy who owns and older gen M? What size tires do you have on them now and what's your camber at?

I value and respect your opinion Freddie but these wheels arent extreme to require body work, if it was 11" et-16 then yes bodywork is the only way.
There is no book or guide on what looks like crap or what looks good, and I like that slight poke on wheels if you dont then thats perfectly fine . I have nothing against bodywork but there are only two Ms i like it on and one of them is/was Smittys. But then again the cost and time and since its my only car I dont see it being at a shop for weeks renting a car... Too much hassle and money for not so much, I rather spend the money elsewhere. And I think it would also look funny putting on my stock 18s in winter after bodywork.

Thanks for the heads up , I am riding on soft settings as of right now (20,20)
But since winter is behind the corner I am taking offmy current wheels and putting on my stock wheels, will also raise the car to near stock height forthe winter. But once we climb to the spring I will completly readjust the height and dampning.

Thank you :) and yes they did come from a silver y34, but probably a different owner than you have in mind. Apparently one of very few sets in US ... wheels are in pristine condition, no curbrash just the lips have a slight oxidation, but I am getting them professionally repolished. Tires were taken off for thatreason , they were 245 35 20 all around . I am buying new tires for them most likely 235/35 20 & 245 35 20.I did not drive on them yet, they were just test fitted.

Hey I like the wheels even more when only a handfull are in the states but I have really bad taste, I just can't agree with poke or rolled fender lips on a Y50. It's just me I'm sure everyone else likes that kind-of stuff. and I'm sorry that my taste is to do it right or don't do it at all.

And I agree Smitty had the best M on the east coast but even his wheel lip was even with the fender lip, with air & body work and hella camber (did I say lots of camber). Look for a rear shot of Smitty's M and you'll understand. So who has the best looking M on the east coast now?

Now the best looking M is on the west coast and it has almost no poke or camber at all because it has a true wide-body not fender flares like most do.

If I was smart (which I'm not) I would post a bunch of M's that have gone wrong but as you know I'm computer duummmmm.

20x10 et15 and adding a 5mm spacer to clear big brakes comes to a 10mm et. thats no pc of cake for an M my friend unless your going VIP and all out.

But I won't reply about your stance again untill I see your final fitment in person. / \

Good luck, Freddie

No problem Freddie, I know you are a nice guy and give opinions with good intensions its all good :)
You must have misread, rear wheel clears the rear akebono caliper with roughly -5mm like I said I don't know how accurate the templates are but I think I wont need spacers for rear wheels... couple of pics to get you to more visualize what I am going for minus the height , I will still show some rubber... btw its 10J et 0
