No amount of foot trickery will save you when your flipflop desides to wander where it shouldnt.
I hate the way skater shows look on me and feel. Heavy as hell I think.

And on the flip flop thing, which, I'm pretty lazy and wear flip flops every, and when I drive, I take them off and put thema few inches behind my feet. It did get scary when I accidentally drove with one and it somehow got lodged in a weird way under the accel. pedal, when i had to stop. Very scary moment for me there.

You won't believe this, but for awhile a few years ago I actually would drive (just drive, not race or anything) with military boots.

I honestly think my shoes are perfect for driving... their LIGHT and have great grip, ive worn them around town for the past two weeks cause i forgot my old set at home in Pittsburgh and the soft rubber is allready starting to wear!?

they dont have a thick sole, i can feel the pedals easily with my foot and use my toe inside my shoe to gently give the pedal more accel. perfect for heel toe (which im still working on) but I dont think their too wide. (personal opionion i guess tho)

I dont skate, but think their great for driving... granted some of those skate shoes are crazy thick and have bulging tounges, but look around a bit, some are light and thin

finnally... I cant stand sandels or flip-flops... how do you people drive in those!?

I wear the Adidas Tuscanys also and I love driving in them. On the off day when I have to wear something else they feel so clunky and big compared to the Tuscanys. Also, I wear a size thirteen shoe so anything that can make my feet feel smaller on the pedals is ok with me, so boots are out of the question.

actualy between the shoes I have had Id go with just socks, although I dont leave my shoes anywere in the pedal area. It was realy strange at first, but as I have to were boots for work, and they real suck for driving, I usualy get in the car, toss them in the back and drive home. No shoe can give you as much feel for the pedals as a bare foot.

Either my Saucony's or New Balance's...But when I actually go out to just drive, race, drift, auto X I wear my work shoes, they are 'old school' vans. pebbles stab your feet when your walking around in those bishez

Puma Speedcats are great. Their sole is thinner than most for excellent response. They're almost like suped-up (sp?) socks. With the pedals so close on the 240, heel toe is difficult in boxy shoes (ie skate). I actualy leave mine in the car. Their only downside is they aren't fire proof.

I have big, thick-soled Nikes or my stupid dress shows from work.

I need to get some of those new balances with the thinner soles, or maybe a pair of those Tigers.

I can barely fit my size 12 adidas basketball shoes into the 240, so I couldn't use skater shoes even if I wanted to. Puma is the only way to go.

Good luck getting any gear/engine oil out of the leather though. I wish I had gotten the black ones.

I prefer bare feet. I have very big feet so its easier with no shoes at all, probably because the pedals are so tiny in my mr2's. Its not a heal-toe for me, more of a big tow-little toe...

I always thought that old school converse would be cool for driving, I have yet to pick up a pair...

MY skate shoes are very comfortable and good to skate in, not for driving though. waaay too big.

Representing the Chucks in a different style.

I love them for driving. You can feel everythign through the sole and don't enlrage the area of your foot. Perfect for driving IMO.
