At least your turbo's are straight bro. Sorry to hear this!

:werd: part out the parts worth selling, buy a used N/a (two just in case?), rebuilt it, apply your same turbo/meth setup, modify your front bumper for your intercoolers, Diy water/alcohol sprayer for em (I made one!), and you're good as new

I'm just selling my wheels to buy another motor. While I'm pulling this one apart to rebuild it.

That somewhat negates the whole point of having intercoolers.
Well I have the meth injection, and the intercoolers were kinda just help Isuppose?

Edited :tisk:

Yeah klutch, that's an epic fail. No air flowing over the intercoolers means no intercooling. They weren't helping anything except another place for boost leaks to arise. Next time I'd make cut outs where the SMICs go and place some mesh inside the openings like Barry did here right after his conversion.

Image

Run ducts as well or the air is just getting blown about inside the bumper.

Yeah I guess that was a screw up there. lol I wasn't running fog lights but that doesn't make any difference I had no ducts. lol, anyways just got the car up on jack stands, starting to take exhaust off, gonna unbolt transmission and pull the motor itself. Should be a little bit easier.

Okay, got the motor out. Decided I'm not going back to a VG. I will be keeping the car though.

Zemulator tuning system, ECU, turbo kit, and whatever else from my motor will be parted out.

Thanks dude but its cool. I mean I was hoping it wouldn't have happened now. But I do have some nice plans in store for it. It should be coming back a completely different beast.

Just don't let it become a 5 year "project" that never gets finished lol. Thats what happens to most people who don't put another VG in.

I already found the swap thread I'm basically "following" with some differences here and there. I plan to have it back on the road by the end of December. All I really need right now is the motor to start my swap. Which I will start my motor hunting soon as I sell my wheels. And some other stuff here and there.

Okay so I'll start a build thread eventually. Maybe when I finish so I can just to the entire build in one post...

But well.... Motor, transmission, driveshaft, and exhaust, are all out of the car. Did this Friday night just cause we had nothing better to do. lol
This was my drive way... lol

Prepped the car during the day... Basically pulled off fenders/hood/bumper/nose panel. lol

I think I've decided. It's gonna be a V8 no matter what. I'll say what motor after I buy it lol.

No V10 no care :)

A KA-T would be more balanced for drifting.

LMAO.

Anyways, today... I pulled my interior... or what I had left of it... pulled my dash out to pull out what I had left of my a/c components... also gonna continue taking out the sound deadening.
Can't wait to buy my new motor and get a move on, on everything... I wanna cage it since I've got everything out already...
Sorry for the crappy pics! I really need a new camera.

I have everything from my old motor available for part out. Turbos, manifolds, intercooler piping, stage 2 meth injection, AMS Underdrive Pulley, ECU + Zemulator Tuning System, Fuel Rail + Injectors (new style).

Is that engine sitting on it's oil pan? Did you not have a trashed tire you could have stuffed it in?

Just less weight... half of it was already out. Just looks ugly now with the rest...

Anyways got the engine harness out, and all the under dash a/c stuff. Also took the carpet out...

Just small stuff....

Hopefully I can pick up my motor soon and start mocking every thing up.

Taking out rest of sound deadening now soon probably Saturday... looking to get a roll cage put in now as well.

So got the car completely torn down.... Haven't gotten to start on sound deadening yet....

Decided on going with an LM7 5.3L Chevy 5.8. Its lighter than a VG30DETT, I'm going with a full LS Z06 Top End on it. And... I'm gonna make an adapter plate to fit it with the Z32 transmission.

I miss my car soo much.... :(

Sold my wheels, and fuel rail so far...
