I have a 240sx.org sticker on my car, yet to the cops, its a racing sticker, that will give them reason enough to pull me over and make me pop my hood. I don't street race, I don't street drift. I take my car to the track, as well as daily drive it. Why do I have to be hassled?
Your being hassled because you look mexican but you are actually asian.

And **** you douchebaggerys that type **** about California. Stop being in a bandwaggon and a towel.

I'm confused. I can understand it being banned at events where its NOT supposed to be going on, but what about at drift events?

I'm assuming that people are not dumb enough to try drifting at car shows or autocross events where drifting is not supposed to be done.

Are you guys saying that even race tracks are actively turning away drift events and so on? I'm not a fan of drifting however that seems a bit silly to me.

<sigh>

CA is handling it another way in some areas. If you are caught racing, your car is impounded and crushed. How about extending that to drifting? Caught taking it sideways down the street or around a corner then the car is impounded and crushed. Think that will get through to people? Gonna be pimp when your car is crushed yet you still have to meet your next 3 years of $400/mo car payments.....

Must suck. There was a video posted around here somewhere of a couple Honda's getting crushed. What's stupid is people still do it anyway.

i hate to hear that cars are being crushed, but if that isn't a good way to take a handle on things then I don't know what isHarsh but fair i think

Their reasoning is due to parts theft (per the vid). They catch someone and the car has stolen parts. They take the parts out and the car gets sent back to the owner or auctioned off. Months later they get the same car again with more stolen parts. Thus, if you crush them they can't be used again and stops that particular cycle. Seems to be more relevant to Honda's than 240's at this point.

Regardless, drifting on the streets is stupid. Whining "but we don't have a track" is not a valid excuse since you have people with a local track and they still do it in the streets. One of the main complaints in that video is people drifting when they leave the track.
