Lincoln has it (1998 Town Car). What gives? If Ford can get away with it, I don't see why Nissan can't do it again.

expense-cheaper to put controls on the seat,as no additional wiring harness snaked thru floor to door panel is needed,a simple cost saving move.

Hmmm, I don't recall on the new 2002+ Q45 where they are. Will have to look at my boss's 2004 Q45 sometime soon if no one else chirps in here.

On the 2003/4 M45 and the G35's, it is on the seat. In the M45, it is along the left side, not cleanly visible. In the G35, it is on the right edge, near the center console - visible, but sometimes under people's butts.

Neither of these is as nice as keeping it on the door ...

What the Q lost are the nice door-mounted controls shaped like seats. All because MB got upset. The 1990 Q45 is the only Infiniti that had door-mounted seat-shaped controls.

Those were nice...

I personally like the controls on the side of the seat best... It annoys me when people get in the car and they have no idea where anything is. they think everything is on the side of the seat, as where most cars controls are.. people dont look on the door...

I have to agree with Wes... I really don't like the idea of door mounted seat controls. It seems more awkward to reach, and I almost never have my left hand on the armrest. It's much easier (and more aesthetically pleasing) to have them down on the seat, right where your hand falls.Plus, with them on the door like that, I'd be constantly bumping them.

That towncar setup looks like crap. At least the Q setup that someone posted looks semi decent. Still doesn't look as good as a cleanly upholstered door panel.
