Tooling along this morning in a 65 going over 80 and I look in my rear-view mirror and there is a Charger on my tail. Eek! I moved over. It was a Gov't vehicle, but not a cop. Whew! :ohno:

I love it when you are cruising along at legal++ speeds, and for some reason, you decide to bring it back to the ol' posted speed limit...

Very next curve/intersection, there sits the local Revenue gatherer...umm, I mean radar cop. Doo-do-doo, nothing to see here, mister officer. Just going 52 in a 50...have a nice day! :chuckle:

Or when you are going 85+ in a 70 zone, pop over a hill and have a cop trigger you........and pull over the car you had just passed instead.

3-lane highway section and I was in the middle lane. Passed a POS Galant and he started pacing behind me. When going over the rise I saw the cop and lifted right as he triggered me. Me slowing caused the Galant to swing into the fast lane. Cop got the Galant.

Whew!!!!

Don't do over 80 in a 70 zone...I try to stay within 10% of the limit.

My favorite is when that jackhole that was weaving in and out and gets on your butt in the fast lane, but you're behind someone...so he tries to pass on the right. Then gets stuck in the slow lane. The highway opens up, and he passes at a high rate of speed...only to get nailed by a Leo! AHHHHH, now that's nice!

Oh yeah, I love seeing some a-hole get pulled over that really deserves it. Once we were on the interstate around town and it was 3 lanes all bumper to bumper. All of a sudden this dip-wad comes around everybody in the little area between the left lane and the concrete barrier. I had remembered us passing a cop and I looked to my right at the same time the cop eyed the guy passing on the shoulder. He got him and I bet he NAILED him.

It was particularly aggrivating because he was throwing up rocks and trash as he was going by. Some people just think they are better than everybody else. :nono:

what color bimmer was he driving?! :gapteeth:

My wife would be happy doing 100 down the HW, where as I usually do the speed limit....or within 5.
However, she better hold on once we hit the back road twisties! :naughty:
Also, love going zero to 60/70/80
But, on the HW not in any hurry.....

Oh gosh SVT, I hate to answer that. It was actually a red 3rd gen Camaro.

Zero to whatever...that is what it is all about. Not much of a high speed freak. I would rather chirp the tires than go 100+mph.

Nothing prettier than a car carrying the wheels about a foot off the ground. :yesnod Super Chevy will be here April 15th. I will go get my redneck fill for the year.

I'm always cruising at about 80mph on the highway... cant say i don't go above that every now and then, but in GA "super speeder" aka "extra $200 added to ticket" is anything 85mph+ on any 3 lane highway and 75mph+ on any two lane road...

Funny thing is I'll be crusing at 80mph in a 70mph zone and people will still try and pass me in GA... sometimes i do block the pass and let them get stuck behind the truck LOL

I was once driving very spirited with this mustang on this flat top two lane road, we finally get to a hill, i slow down and he passes my by... no sooner than i slowed down my radar detector goes off, and GA state pratrol pulls the mustang over SMH... i would think any spirited driver would own a radar dector and know to never speed over a hill... smh

"Very spirited"

:lolling:

I have a very spirited driver in a G37s cp that must live near where I do and must work just a block further down the road than I do. We are always running into each other on the road and we "get spirited". Last week we finally came nose to nose at a traffic light. Dang I wanted to race him with all my being! The angel on the right shoulder won though. :squint: We just took off spiritfully.

K, what is SMH

SMH = shaking my head

yeah i laughed when i wrote "very spirited" too... :)

the devil on my shoulder wins like 45% of the time... LOL i'm mostly good... i think would of caved to the dark side if i lined up with a 370z and its open road in front of me. Thats why i make sure i go to the track and get that urge out of me as much as possible, cause I absolutely love to drive.

You are a lot younger than I am. In my early years I would race anybody anywhere. Not proud of that fact, that is just the way I was. Never to a high rate of speed, just like 0-60.

Things were just different then. A cop would pull you over, and if you were nice and respectful, they would drop your speed and you would just get a ticket. Saw it happen to my first hubby more than once. Now it is jail time. Too many innocent folks have been killed around here by dummys racing all out at high rates of speed.

I have some places I know of where at certain times are deserted and I can play. Overall I just enjoy my hard 0-45 from a traffic light.

Getting old SUX :tisk:

My wife talks about racing people off the line all the time. I find it strange because I never have anyone rev at me or try and run off the line.

Maybe they be skurred of me?

The older I get the more I tend to not drive fast "in town". On the expressway I have no issues with exceeding the limit tho. I'll get caught again one of these days

Came up next to him at a light again this morning. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrg! He took off, I just took off normal. I need to make him a note to meet me here behind our warehouse. ;) He would probably misconstrue that as flirting. :tisk:

People reved on me in my S2000 more than any car I have ever owned. Don't really know why. Nobody will come up next to me in my Camaro. I have had Mustangs get 3 car lengths behind me rather than next to me at a light. :naughty: I know y'all don't like American muscle, but it does sound KILLER!

I use cruise control a LOT, set at 5 over. Have not had a ticket of any kind in more than thirty years. I like my right foot, have had this car over 100, but the CC habit keeps me out of trouble.

Not long ago, I had it on CC in the middle lane on 95. I had gotten to about 8 over going down a hill, and suddenly there were blue lights behind me. I said, "Oh, well" and move right (with a signal) ready to pull over. He zoomed up behind the car I had been closing on and pulled him. Don't know what for, but it was a bimmer, so he deserved it. :naughty:

You'd be surprised. Most people on these forums are general car enthusiasts who happen to own or be fans of Nissan products.

Really. I thought you knew us better than that, girl.

I have to say that, although I've been more of a Ford guy WRT American-built, the latest stuff coming out of GM is _very_ impressive. The new Camaros may look goofy and have poor visibility, but the LS1 eats Boss 302s for lunch. Best quote from the recent Motor Trend comparo:

"The Camaro doesn't give you the constant feedback of the Mustang, but talks to you when it counts. Think of the Camaro as being a good friend and the Mustang a girlfriend."

And if Caddy would just put a 7-8 speed dual clutch auto in the CTS-V, it would be the best nasty old man car on the planet.

Of course Camaro is a friend. The word "Camaro" is French for "comrade".
