LOL - gabossie got ....

IQ means nothing indeed. I was tested several times in middle school, scored between 160-170 each time, but I'm just a regular schmo today.

I'm fairly gifted in spelling, reading comprehension and spatial skills, but I, like TMS, still hit myself in the head with tools and still lose my sunglasses (on top of my head) more than I'd like to admit.

p.s. Gabossie, good find on the chart though.

I don't feel I have to say anything about myself or my intelligence.

I think Tennessee is however full of retards. but I'd say that about any state. or country.

why you ask?

because there's more of us then there are smart people. I'd rather be a stupid sheep then the sheperd worrying about the price of wool anyday...

I want to know how they got voters IQ scores. It was impossible to get those things when we were in school. I guess so we wouldn't go around saying that we were smarter than other students or whatever. So what did they do. I guess at the polls with the 2 hour lines they passed out I.Q. tests?

Is it just me or are IQ tests by design meant to be normalized at 100 for large populations? I believe so. It's a cute little comparison, but just another prime example of 'statistics' lying.

I am also very frightened by the fact that some states have below-100 IQ averages.

I don't say this to boast, but to merely prove my point: I live in Utah, whos average is shown as 85. My IQ is 187. So who is balancing it out to the point that the average is 85? The answer to that scares me a lot.

Um, hate to tell you, but the IQ scale doesn't even go that high... You sure you didn't just add the 1 on accident to make yourself feel better? JK

IQ's pretty much top out in the 140's. I took an IQ test back in HS and got a 132, which is damn high, but I don't really consider it any measure of intelligence. I couldn't even tell you what test it was, so it bears no relevance. To me, IQ doesn't really mean a damn thing other than it's easy to judge someones character that walks around bragging about his supposed IQ.

This is on a scale of 200...The only one I have ever heard of. I've heard of a couple guys with scores even above 200. I have never heard of an IQ scale that maxes out at 100, or anything but 200.

I also don't consider the IQ number to mean much, that's why I say I wasn't posting that number to boast. There are people who I know have scored higher than me and are dumber than a bag of hammers. What really matters is real-world application of one's knowledge, and the ability to attain knowledge quickly.

As I said, I was just using that to prove my point. As you said, anyone who brags about IQ is generally a d!ck. I'm not one of those people who runs around feeling and acting superior on the sole basis of an IQ number. It just worried me when I saw that average of 85 and figured that was a good way to get my point across.

Actually there is no cap to IQ score. An IQ score at its basic principal merely represents the quotient of your theoretical mental to that of your actual age. So if you score 200 that simply means your mental age is twice your actual. Think of it as a percentage. That is also why the norm is 100 which represents 100%. And yea, people with IQ's over 170 kind of scare me since that would represent something like a 16 yr old kid fully understanding Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity. Also the only way to obtain a meaningful score is to take a proctored exam. I took tests in school also; however, I don't believe their scores were accurate even though I scored relatively high, much like AzHitman. Maybe I'm just hoping that someone as "slow" as I shouldn't score so highly.

Well, 140 use to be a high IQ, today it is not. I have tested at 143, in middle school, which was before I started drinking. Lots of brains cell gone. And then took one on line which of course was not an offical test, and got 134. Again, I blame that on booze.

I hear of 160 and 170 quiet alot. i had even seen an asain kid in the World Record book that had like 300 or 340, cant remember. That was like ten years ago. Sounded like horse crap to me, but you never know.

I also dont put alot of stock in IQ scores. What got me, was taking the MENSA test on line. My friend who scored less than me on the IQ test, by three points was invited to take the real test on one of the test days. Me on the other hand was told to take a hike. Go figure. I am supposidly smarter than him, but he could get in to Smart People R-Us, and I cant. Stupid IQ test are full of it. Just my $0.02

MENSA people are creepy. And jerks. And need a purpose for existence.

/generalization.

Speaking of Einstein's theories, I've got a book in my briefcase that has a lot of his notes on some of the more well known ones. It's pretty neat, especially when you look at how modern science has proved him right time and time again.

I wouldn't mind having a purpose for existence, myself.
