now I know theres other things i could do... just cant think of any...also i need to change the diff fluid and auto transmission fluid, and im wondering what i should put in there...

also any brands that your recommend for above listed parts would be helpful too...

How expensive is an O2 sensor ? I think mine is 10 years old.

while you are at it flush your radiator , and change the fluid. i use valvoline gear oil for diff. i don't think you should change your plugwires unless they arereally old and only if you are upgrading them.

About $25 or so. Do it. You'll get that back pretty quickly from the improved mileage.

Plug wires, NGK is good. I think I used Bosch and they work fine too. The key is NEW wires from a reputable maker.

$200 for an O2 sensor??? WTF? Go to Advance Auto parts. A lot of other places are a ripoff (Auto Zone )

transmission fluid like some one mentioned...

Diff fluid if you havent changed it yet...

Flush/refil coolant. Replace hoses if all hard or cracked.

Replace belts if that didnt happen...

Run ECU and make sure no codes and check for O2 sensor operation.

Remove chain guides if that didnt happen yet. While at it replace valve cover gasketS <- s not there by mistake.

Windshield wipers if its dirty...

thermostat if its bad...

check suspension for loose bolts or worn out bushings...

check tail lamp condition (no driver has the ability to know unless someone tells them so this one gets overlooked alot)

Thats about everything I can think of for now...

Oh and check to make sure coolant temp sensor (not the dummy one) is operational

well aftert reading up in my service manual and reading this topic i think im gonna do the following:-oil change-diff fluid change-AT Filter and Fluid change-Plugs, wires, cap, rotor- new green air filter-new 300zx fuel filter-new belt for P/S, and alternator-remove a/c belt and remove a/c compressor/lines.... doesnt work anyway-coolant flush-remove timing chain guides, and replace valve cover gaskets, and clean up valve cover-seafoam engine-clean up engine bay-need new cat

ok that sounds like all of it... now whats a good brand engine bay cleaner.... and where can i get a new cat converter that i can bolt in?

Maybe he was thinking of a really good wideband sensor...

Anyway, if you are going to do the seafoam treatment, see if you have an old o2 sensor bcs most likely the new one you just put in 2 months ago will foul up after seafoam.

O yea, do seafoam first, then proceed to change.

There was a really good seafoam thread somewhere on this board...

You mentioned a 300ZX fuel filter, why and how can you do this? Can I use a 300ZX fuel filter on my stock KA24DE and get better performance or what? If so, what year and specific model?

Also I think you forgot to add, clean fuel injectors.
