Maybe it's just my stupid hick town, but everytime I race someone or pull up next to anyone at all they constantly as "isn't that car a turbo? Someone told me it was" wtf? Are the people in my town just stupid or is it like this everywhere?

our cars tend to be mistaken for the 80's style z cars..which had a turbo option...ricerboy wouldn't race me at a redlight the other night because he thought i was turbo..when i finally convinced him it wasn't..he thought i'd lied when i killed the dx civic(4 door auto mind you...what a retard)...people are just ignorant..and our car isn't the most common car around-

True. I found out who's been telling everyone, a guy named Eric McClaren. He owns a mazda mx-6 that is super riceboy. He's got it all, led wiper fluid lights, 3 foot tall aluminum wing, soup can exhaust. He must have gotton me confused with an old z because I demolished his ragged out a** the other night. lol I'm assuming to save face he's telling everyone I'm turbo'd :P

I got that a couple times as well, as recently as last week. Kids always thinking its a turbo. I have to reply with, "Sorry, only in Japan and Europe." My buddy says my car LOOKS fast, thats why everyone assumes its turbo......

one day I will say inline 6 turbo, RB baby!!!!

Just wait until you are tubo, then you'll spank the snot out of him. You said you are ordering a SR20DET from us (midnight motorsports), right? Or maybe turbo the KA you have? Just keep in touch with either me or daunttless, and we'll get you set up :)

Yeah, as soon as I build my funds back up I'll be ordering the SR20 swap : ) I just bought my 240 about 2 weeks ago which took a pretty big chunk out of the old bank account lol, but I love it. It's by far the best looking 240 here, everyone else who has one is ragged beyond imagination and riced to the extreme. For example, one guy has an 89 240 hatch with two road gear 6x9's sitting on the deck lid with bare wires running to a 20x2 road gear am. I almost cried :( the only flaw is my foam spoiler is very slightly warped and of course the ever aggitating rust beneith it. Oh well, a small price to pay for such a great vehicle : )

congrats wulf, sounds like you have a nice project on your hands...... I wouldn't necessarily call audio upgrades rice, and road gear makes pure crappy audio junk!

I would include it with ragged beyond imagination though. Can you imagine seeing that setup, I know I couldn't until he pointed it out. : )

Heh yeah I was including it under "ragged beyond imagination". Riced would be the 3" exhaust tip that's barely hanging on by a thread and sounds like my neighbor's 1982 Murry Lawn mower :D

that sounds more like rice to me!! Ah man, glad no 240's in my area are rice, at least I haven't seen any. What are you gonna modify first, or are you going straight to the turbo?

Ah you have no idea the terror I have to go through every day looking at these poor 240's. The ONLY one here that isn't ragged is a 91 with super HICAS and it's owned by a 60 year old man. All the rest are pitiful. All I've done so far is had the engine serviced and tuned and I replaced the stock air filter and box with a cone-style filter and ran an air duct up from where the resonator box use to be. I'll probably just order the sr20det engine swap from Midnight Motorsports, although turbocharging the ka is tempting. I'm still undecided but I'll proabably modify things here and there. Any suggestions?

Call me crazy, but here is my reasoning......

I want something different, that can be admired from all corners of the world. No, I don't like rice (I prefer noodles).

KA turbo - is cool, but I don't really believe in bulletproofing an engine that wasn't meant (built) to have a turbo. Just me, I'm no mechanic, so I can't self diagnose/fix probelms myself (yet). :)

SR20DET - a nice, reliable engine. People everywhere but the americas would die of laughter just to see all the time, money, blood sweat and tears was put into dropping an engine that they get STOCK from Nissan. Although this is the best, most practical way of getting 300HP or so outta the 240, I would feel jipped, deep down inside. Not to mention the torment I would recieve from people on the other side of the world cracking up at what they could have done to their 240 with all the money I "wasted". Still an option, but I like the finer things in life.

RB25DET - although its not the 26, still a beast. Not only do people ask me if I have a turbo, they also ask if my car is a V6. I'd like to answer "Yes" to both of these question. That is why I am going to save all my coin, wait for dauntt to drop in his RB, and then as soon as money is available, I will order one of these babies for my girl. This way, everyone around me will be happy when I answer yes to their questions, people from all corners of the world will envy my beast, and all the rice boys can eat my rubber when they rev next to me and i smoke em like a joint!!! LOL, for real, thats what i am aspiring to do with my sleeper!! 6 cylinder, turbo, under 3000lbs = a very nice ride IMO.

what do you think? Yeah, ok, I'm nuts!!

:D

take care

MX3= gay, no offense Tino, but that car is the epitimy of gayness, along with a miata and del sol of course! People confuse my car with an MX6. Goes to show just how much people know about cars, the 2 rides are like apples and oranges (looks like the fish I used to draw in kindergarden from the profile IMO)

hey, I never said anything bad about the rx-7. That is one mean machine!!! The only respect I give the Miata is the fact that it started the whole roadster trend (Z3, del sol, boxter, TT, ect. ect.). In fact, Mazda usually sets the trends with automobiles, in N.America at least (most recently the Protege 5). Which led to the design of the matrix (A.K.A. Pontiac Vibe). And why do all the big Japanese manufacturers have another brand for their elite vehicles? Honda- acura, toyota - lexus, nissan infinity, mazda - ? Guess they just don't want to follow the trends, jsut set them?

You know what i mean Dauntt, 6 cyclinder all the same, fag boy!

mx3's are just slow, really slow, but they have potential.

for example this one runs low 13's out from a modified mx6 v6 eng.

there's about 3 mx6's around here and they're all riced lol not quite as bad as Eric's though lol. I'll take a picture of it and post it on here for you guys so you can see.

OHH and another new development, just saw this in town a second ago. It was like an 85 Mustange, lowered with a 3 1/2 foot tri-level aluminum wing, APC rear Euro's, and get this, PINK underglow on a gray car! and it's a guy! omg I almost laughed myself off the road!

my buddy was standing at the top of his driveway as I was pulling in. He thought mine was a 6 cause it sounded so loud. He was in awe when I told him it was a 4, he made me pop the hood and rev the engine and all!!! I just replied that its a 2.4, not no wimpy 1.6. Think everyone in my town is too used to crap *** little go carts revving around with fuel effiecient engines trying to be loud with a cheap *** pipe at the end. I put on my air filter 2 weeks ago, wonder what he'll say now, that thing screams when taking off in 1st gear and at WOT.

I still don't like the mx3 or mx6, just the rx-7. Mazdas suck large ***, the 929 is a pretty nice winter beater. I used to own a 626, wasn't exactly the greatest of rides, but it was my first, so I will always remember her.

Kinda like your first woman, may not be the greatest ride but you'll always remember her. : ) Unless you smoke a lot of green like Jesse, or have never had a woman, like Jesse, OR don't even LIKE women, like Jesse. : )

Despite the fact that I am chronic (habitual) smoker, like Jesse, I will never forget my woman. Chinese/Thai mix, man, I still wait for the day I get to bang her one last time....... oh wait, that day was a few years back, well, don't think any girl would get me off like she would. But yeah, she really wasn't a p0rn freak in bed or anything, but I suppose I wasn't great either, we were eachothers first......

ok, a little too much info, I think I'll start a new thread on this topic!

there are a few mx-6's around my area. only a few are ricey. there are a couple clean lookin ones w/ kits and rims. not sure about performance. one has exhaust, it might just be a muffler, but its loud. don't really like the way it sounds. the ones that ain't ricey or showy, are just plain lookin mx-6's. nuthin special
