Anyway, Donnie called me today and said that they have logged over 90 miles on the car with no light coming on. I should be up there tomorrow around 3pm central time to pick up/inspect the car. He said he is going to have the tech explain the whole "stripped bolt" thing to me, as he feels I didn't get an accurate description of what really happened. Hopefully they don't try and charge me for that. There aren't many places I can think of on an H22 where a bolt can get stripped and they have to drill it out and re-tap it (like I've been told so far), seeing as how pretty much every component (block, head, valve cover) on the damn thing is aluminum, and every bolt is steel.
Someone buy this man a lapdance. I was gonna say the same thing. Thinking they might disable the light all together.the converted wrote:Just make sure that it comes on without the engine running!
I was passing 2 slow travelling cars on the 2 lane highway and thought it would be the perfect time to verify its functionality.RCA wrote:Keep us updated on the car's health...
As for the ticket...
Stop using VTEC on open roads
So far 0. Donnie said that it wasn't his job to charge me, its his job to make sure my car is working correctly.Tyler wrote:how much was the bill...?
I wasn't judging. I am sure you weren't being reckless, I was just making funz of yo VTAC!PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:I was passing 2 slow traveling cars on the 2 lane highway and thought it would be the perfect time to verify its functionality.

Eh, I'll be doing my own inspection. I'm going to have to fix the coolant leak at the upper radiator hose anyway. It also kinda smells like oil after driving it for a while... not really surprising though, I'm sure oil got on a lot of stuff from all the things we did (changed oil like 3x, oil pressure sending unit, oil pressure test, dropped the oil pan). Its running really good though. I'll keep everyone posted.AZhitman wrote:Take it NOW to a different dealer. Tell them you're about to take a LOOONG roadtrip, and you need their 1001-point complete inspection, and that you're going to want to fix the most critical things.
They'll make a list of anything they find wrong with it. THAT would go a long way towards easing my mind, if it were my car.
Anyway, so far so good still. I'll probably tackle the upper radiator hose sometime this weekend. I already have the coolant and the catch pans and everything. The car still came back all sorts of dirty, and I've given it a wash and quicky interior detail, but I'll have to do a wash and wax this weekend, and a full vacuum. Radar detector is back in on account of the po-9.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:So far 0. The fact that the company had to "get tired of it" before firing him speaks volumes about how they view customers.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:He basically told me that Brady had pulled basically the same s*** on a bunch of people that he pulled on me, and management got tired of it. Score 1 for the good guys.
