I don't know what it is but when I drive my Q, I always find someone trying to race me. Like they feel they have to prove something to there girlfriend in the passenger seat or there friends. If i'm on the freeway running the pack the cars they want to try and keep up. Maybe they just like looking at the chrome spinning grim. Have any of you 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation Q drivers experienced these situations.

Actually yes, today I was driving off base to McDonald's and this SRT-4 rolls up to me at a redlight revving his engine (holy wastegate Batman!). I of course rev back (up around 5000 rpm it sounds like a bad *** truck, I know.... I need a muffler) and then the light turns green and I assume he floored it. I just ignored his foolishness and proceeded to McDonald's at my leisure. I get that kinda **** all the time.

My Q says Q455 on the trunk something that is totally lost to the majority of young [under 50] drivers on the road.

Ha! Wish I had the front grill " 8.2 litre" badge off my dads old 1970 Eldorado....500 cubic inches of front wheel drive hulk and bulk! Boy was that a head turner, smoking the FRONT tires way back in the time of rear wheel drive supremecy

Getting on the freeway yesterday a benz pulls up next to me at the red light. My business partner said oh no it's a 12 cylinder by the sign on the side of the car. I beat him by 5 lengths and my partner said let him get in front so I can see what it is. He pulls past me and on the back is c65 AMG (not even a real model). My business partner thinks my car is much faster than it really is, so I didn't tell him it was really a c320 and $25 worth of signs.

Yes I do lol

I have an overwhelming desire and need to smoke everyone now....only off the line tho. I don't speed very often, just accelerate rapidly. I'm usually far enough ahead by the time I hit the speed limit and I can let off and listen to the BOV play it's music and watch the latest victim in the rear view mirror.

Ah what a beautiful sound... turbo V8!

You are making me really consider this turbo thing. I don't care about performance as much as that amazing feeling of knowing your car is being blown

was a joke but seriously that sound makes girls wet... well my girl anyway.

Other drivers don't seem to find my Q intimidating.

Maybe I should lose the ice cream truck calliope music.

I always wondered why people always try to race me. I look at them like they are morans. My friend took a pic of me on the highway and I guess it does look fast to someone who doesnt understand that the wide wheels are just for looks.

I actually think there really is a C65. It is a 600hp V12 and it cost about $169K and if it was actually 1 of those cars, I seriously doubt any Q would beat it.

There aren't many of those cars around.

There is such a car. A good friend of mine who went to the NFL two years ago purchased one. If it is this car... http://www.evo.co.uk/.../209163/mercedes_cl65.html your Q45 didn't beat it. Sorry, we all love our Q's but if you did beat him by 5 car lengths, he just didn't want to race you. Even the Mercedes S600's are faster than our cars.

If the car in question was a C L 65 and it looked like this

then brymax, and nightrider are right. He was being nice to you trying not to bruise your ego. Remember it's not just the 603 horsepower but the 737 lb ft of torque that is pretty awesome. But if it didn't look like this and it really DID say C65 instead of CL.....then it beats me.

Read the fine print. He mentioned a c65 not a cl65 as most of us know MB does make for a low cost of $198,325 for 604hp. But wait shouldn't a S600 be faster anyway I mean it only has 510 horses with a 0-60 in 4.5 sec

Well. I know that my Q is intimidating. Especially when I'm switching lanes and just BLOWING by people. There's this one curve that I love to take coming home from work. There always seems to be some jerk with his HIDS in my eyes when I'm taking the turn. I don't even touch the brake. I let off the throttle for a bit, and then hit it through the turn. I usually hit it at 65. (Tried it at 50 in my MDX and got scared) The Q holds the road so well. I always wonder what I look like just accelerating. (From the loser's POV)

I'm sure that it'll be even more intimidating with the President conversion and tints.

A simple Google search would show you that you're wrong. There is a CL65 AMG, but no such thing as a c65.

So, the car you're talking about did NOT look like the photo five or six posts above, right?

I saw some drag race videos between hi-end cars. Every super car was put agains a Bugatti Veyron...Everytime Veyron set off, it defeated the opponenet! Even a Yamaha R1 on take off This Cl65 was among contenders, it lost by about 5-6 body lenghts half way through the drag strip...

If a McLaren F1 passed a stopped Veryon at 100 miles per hour and they both immediately accelerated, the Veyron would reach 200MPH first. Blistering speed.

Where did you hear that? If that is accurate that is truly amazing. I knew the Veryon was fast but that is just crazy fast. Wow...

Seems that is accurate. Inspired to do some googling I found many stories including the one I took this quote from.

"After just 2.46sec the Veyron reaches 60mph, and barely a couple of seconds after that it bursts into three figures. But the thing you'll really struggle to get your head round, the statistic you'll be boring your mates with for some years to come, is this; despite setting off 10 seconds after the McLaren when the F1 is already travelling at 130mph the Bugatti reaches 200mph at exactly the same time as the F1. Think about that. I have. And I still can't quite fathom how rapid the Veyron must be to pull it off."

Yeah, that Veyron is fast. Ugly as sin too. At $1.2 million, I'm not that interested. It is highly engineered though. I think at 160 or 180 mph the front lowers itself and the rear spoiler extends to increase downforce.

Where could you go in the US to enjoy those speeds on a daily basis?

Didn't Mr. Bean crash one of them?

I have witnessed a GT1 doing at least 160 on autobahn. It passed us as if we were standing still...at over100mph of our speed in a Bavaria 530It was wickedly fast. My bike SV1000S K6 can do flat out 160Mph (a bit moded) and it is beyond scary .... Watch Clarcson super car showdown - an amazing collection of top of the line super cars, including Veyron!!!

Right you are sir, as confirmed by Shane. I'm a huge McLaren F1 fan though. I wouldn't care in the least if a Bugatti passed me.

I'd be looking at this backside!!!

I personally don't see anything ugly over here.
