I do. The Saab has a CD-MP3 player so I keep erasing and recording the same 700MB CD-RW. It was a cheap JVC head unit with HD radio and I didn't want to keep an iPod in a convertible. Head units available in 2010 with SD card slots were still a bit expensive which would then become theft targets.

I used to.
But my new Alpine headunit can read from USB drives so no more CDs for me!

I have a CD player in my GT-R with an AUX port. I use my Xperia on long trips to play music through the AUX port. If it's just around town, I have my CD's in the car.

In the wife's car, the head unit is a Kenwood navigation/CD/TV/DVD player. But, it also has the ability to play from SD cards and I can also stream my music to it through Bluetooth. That's going to make the drive to Aomori in May soooo nice.

I kept CDs in my car until just a couple of years ago. I have a fairly substantial collection, and it just really started becoming a pain to keep up with them all. I generally keep my iPod around if I want to listen to my music, and I have a satellite radio from when Sirius was still worth listening to for when I want some variety.

I do, however, still use CDs at home. Like I said, I have a pretty substantial collection and I really hate for them to just sit there collecting dust. I'm also one of those types that likes to have something in my hands, so I still buy hard copies of a lot of my music.

Yeah, I do. I have all my wife's music on CD, and all my music is either burned to the internal HDD, or it is stored on the memory card. I really love Mercedes and the Harman Kardon stereo system.

I flip-flop no name cdr's like flapjacks. Those things get scratched so easy I usuy throw them out after I take them out cause I'm putting something new in. MP3 CDs are great for when I forgets my iPod for the aux.

Not really. I've bought one in the past three years (and that's because it was a greatest hits album and I couldn't buy all the sings digitally for less).

I buy old CDs at Best Buy on the discount rack when I am shopping for a tripod or something...

My day doesn't really have enough time to put music on, nor is it really allowed on the job sites anymore.

I still use CDs and will continue doing so until they are no longer available (or until a successor hard media technology overtakes it).

I do not like being told what I can and cannot do with things I paid for. Digital music is too ephemeral and too susceptible to the whims of a corrupt legal system and grey ownership parameters.

I used two cds on my recent road trip (and bought two more en route).
Each of my cars has a cd "living" in the head unit, but they aren't listened to as often as my hard drive or Pandora.
Most of my cd usage is in the house, where the best speakers and sound system are located. Playing streaming audio through them doesn't sound the same as a cd.

It's all about the bitrate. And analog file types always have the highest.

I still do. Some of my music still hasn't made it to Itunes/MP3 yet and besides the Harmon Kardon head unit is still pretty advanced.

Well, that's true, but there's no DRM on purchased music from iTunes anymore, nor Amazon.

I did until about 3 years ago someone smashed the window of my NX and grabbed over 300 original CD's. For the miata I'm not even bothering with anything that looks remotely expensive.

Most of the music I listen to is already on CD's owned by my cousins, so I just borrow from them. Too lazy to bother copying them, too.

FK CD's! What a big crock of shyt. Does anybody remember when they came out? They were SUPPOSED to cut the price to us, cuz a cd cost them pennys to stamp out hundreds of them (unlike the cassete tapes) SO what happend!? Well, now insted of $8-$10 cassets now they charge $22-$24+ for a cd! Not only that, they scratch so easy as to be ridiculous. So now what? YOU BUY ANOTHER! What a scam. I stopped using cds 10 years ago. Thank god for small portable electronics.

I am guessing you people that said "Yes", still use DVD's too I bet! Wake up and smell the century people. Stop giving your money away to people who are already millionares.

Semi-related note:
STOP SOPA AND ACTA! THEY ARE TAKING AWAY YOUR RIGHTS! Have any of you done a google search lately and one of many messages said you can go here or the sights listed in your search are in violation of blah blah blah? You watch. Nobody wants to learn what our governement is doing. Nobody seems to care about the fine print in these bills they are passing. Every day more and more sites are being restricted and access bared to US residents. Sound familier? Try to go to some north korean web sites or some of the china forums. Access Denied. WTF Internet = free speech, sharing of ideas, thoughts, emotions, education, art, love, war, TRUTH. When they start limiting your access where does it stop. You want to know how the Wars are going for real? watch vids from both sides with the net!! You trust your local paper to have all the facts? You trust your government to tell you the truth?

Very sorry, none of this is directed to you guys, been a long day and the question was begging for my post. Cd's scam has always bothered me. And then you get people like my bud nick(good friend 8 years) He as bought the metallica black CD 4 times now......"if i break it or scratch it up, I'll just go buy another, thier only $18.99 at walmart"

I noticed that CDs got really cheap. No more annoying security plastic. Usually $8-$12 for an album.

$8-$12 = old albums

Show me any 2012 album for that price. (Not some gospal or xmas songs, a 2012 name brand artist, like something you would actualy buy)

I bought Kelly Clarkson's CD the day it came out a few months ago for $14.99. When you adjust for inflation, that's a significant decline in price. In 1997 that would have still been $18.99. Keeping with inflation, today's new album should be $27. If you go back to 1994 when CDs were gaining widespread popularity, they were $15.00. In today's money, that should be $22.

I pay $20+ for new 180-gram vinyl, and I'm willing to pay $20 for lighter vinyl if it comes with a free digital download of the album.

Piracy and declining interest in pop genres have driven down the retail price of music.

I can honestly say that I have never bought a CD that was more than like $15, and I buy my fair share of recent/popular(ish) music. For example, just a month or two ago I bought Suego Faults by Wolf Gang and I paid maybe $14--and it had to be shipped from the UK. I just look for sales and buy used whenever I can. The local music store I shop at has used CDs going for close to the $5 mark all the time, and new CDs are seldom more than $12 or so. Generally, I can save about two to three dollars if I buy digital copies; for that kind of money I'd rather have some sort of physical copy.

I've haven't paid more than $14 for a CD in a decade. Stop shopping wherever you are; you're getting screwed.

Meh. I see no problem with still using DVD's. Not that I watch a lot of DVD's or whatever, but I'm just not as caught up with going with the times. However, most of the stuff I watch can be found on the internet or on TV anyways.

I'm done with DVD p0rn. I still buy regular movies on DVD though. I'm not even excited about the bluray player in my PS3. It's like my PS2. It just sits there collecting dust.

Bluray paired with a good HDtv is wicked awesome. I once saw Transformers on a bluray + HDTV combo and it's literally like I'm the one doing the filming. The clarity is that good. Can I go on living without bluray? Yes.

Yes I still buy DVDs...well if I want a hard copy of a movie, and not just something that I will watch once (that is what netflix is for) It is thought processes like this that cause the movie industry to continue making the s*** that they do today. I have no problem paying for good movies, because I hope that my money gets into the hands of good filmmakers and they continue to make good movies.
