Title says it all but here is some background...

My dad is an insurance agent and I am a student so I qualify for a student safe driver discount pending I have no moving violations/at fault accidents. To check this, my dads company runs a MVR on all of its clients that qualify for this discount. If they break the terms, the premium goes sky-high. I work 9-5 on my days off for him to get some $ for my car and I came across my MVR while looking at the policies in my household.

Yes, its not a moving violation but I told my dad people don't get a lot of cites for tinted windows so he would let me go 20% in the back - yes I know they give quite a few out my friend just got his 6th one... If he saw that I got a ticket for it he would not be too pleased with me and probably make me take it off.

So I'm just curious if it will show up on a MVR.

Any ideas?

Also anyone with experience care to share how much the tickets were so I know how much to set aside just in case.

Thanks.R.

Depends on the state.

Either way, just get legal tint. Getting hassled all the time for tint seems so stupid to me, considering its something that really doesn't benefit you in any way. Super dark tint is pointless.

Tint does have benefit.... if you live somewhere sunny and hot.

Tint is practically a requirement here because of the summer time temps.

I need to get my windows retinted. It keeps it so much cooler in the summer. Plus i am putting tan leather in the car and sun is hell on leather.
