This is probably a dumb question, but I've never bought injectors so I thought I would ask. I am looking at purchasing Bosch injectors and don't want to buy the upper and lower o-rings, and upper and lower cushion rings if they are included with the injectors.

I considered deathschwork but they did not pick up their calls when I had questions. I called a few more times in the day and nothing. I gave my business to nismo instead, ha!

I was going to get them from Autozone, but now I'm considering either drivewire.com or car-stuff.com beacuse both sites have them for $20 less (each) than Autozone.

I considered Deastchwerks, but I did not see a listing for factory 270cc injectors on their site.

deastchewerks sells injectors for 91-94 . they are 370cc. they worked fine on my 91 240sx. deatschwerks also supplies o-rings and the lubricant which has a very high viscosity. Dont buy from someone who does notprovide o-rings.

see my thread for installation of 91-94 injector. be careful with removal of injectors or you will damage them and not get the $50 refund for returning them.

but eh, O ring is like 50 cents at the dealer last time I checked

to buy injects from a source just because they have o ring is just silly, it's not like they break all the time.

Its pretty hard to source the right ones. It saves on shipping and hassle and is just common sense that the two should go together. They also supply the lubricant which also makes a big difference. You dont want to be guessing about optimal viscosity etc.. It really really annoys me whenpeople sell things like fuel pumps or brake pads or whatever and dont supply the peripheral things that need changing .

I went ahead and bought the Bosch injectors form drivewire.com. I did not feel the need to hassle with trying to get the 370cc injectors from Deastchwerks to work properly with the stock ECU (especially since I'm replacing the injectors to help get the car to pass emissions).

The phone rep told me that the Bosch injectors did not come with the o-rings, so I purchased those as well. I hope that he knows his products, because I'll be pissed if I spent an extra $10 on parts I did not need. Either way, the o-rings that drivewire.com sells are the OE pieces.

Well the injectors came in today. Turns out that Bosch injectors don't come with o-rings, so I'm glad I bought them separate.

The bad news is that I cannot get the old injectors out. I first started with the screw driver method. That led nowhere. Then, against my better judgment, I went for the vise-grips. That simply led to a chipped injector (luckily it was not functionally damaged). With the vise-grips out of the question, I then went back to the screw driver method. Again, that didn’t work. I then tried to cobble together something that would fit into the two small recesses on the injector head but was unable to make anything sturdy enough.

With all other options gone, I decided to just remove the fuel rail. However, as luck would have it, the end of the rail closes to the firewall was hanging up on something I could not locate. Completely frustrated at this point, I simply put the car back together. Now I have the pleasure of paying someone to do a job so simple that I should have been able to do it with my eyes closed.

You need a very large screw driver. I'm not exactly sure why it worked so well. The trick might be twisting the screw driver. The length and size of the head are important. YOu need lenght for leverage and big head to get good grip.

I tried using leverage and tired twisting. The injectors simply won't budge. The only thing I manged to do was turn the one injector slightly with the vise-grips.

The screw driver goes right where the electrical part is plugged in. The head of my screw driver was about 3/4 the length of the plug on the injector. one part of screw driver head rests on aluminum of engine and other side rotates up and put pressure on injector. Give screwdriver a good twist. rock back and forth doing this and it will pop. I did all 4 very easily. other people have reported to me that this works.
