What do you guys think of this DIY coild air induction?
If you dont' know how it'll work, just clamp the duct hoses onto those two nozzles that go down into the bumper from the stock box.
Any suggestions on how to make it better? lol i just want to know what you guys think before i do it.
And please no flaming each other on the debate of "Ram air". I just want to know what people think, and have good suggestions to modify it. thanks!
The black "cross looking" thing is a screw. You would screw in the metal with the holes onto the frame near the headlight. Just find any available screw.

I took the resonator box out and hooked two hoses to the two holes in the airbox. I stuck the other end of the hoses to under area by the innerfender( where the resonator box was) Mine sounds like what your wanting.

lol marshun nice. I was running that setup for about a day. But i wanted the cold air scoop to bring the fresh are directly to the box, so it won't dissapate throught the whole entire engine bay (altough, that would be nice if it wasn't made for the intake.)

hehe. well i have the resonator out also and a pvc pipe down there to direct the air up towards the filter. but idunno. i did the pvc pipe thing first and then i cut open the intake box :P. oh well. the engine pulls just a tad better and is definitely louder.

i did the same thing as sideshowbob.
1. take out resonator box.2. hook up dryer hose to the two holes comming out.3. put the end of dryer hose in the front hole of the bumper(by fog light)4. done.

what i did was cut a big hole in that resonator box...than got a light switch cover...painted in black, than cut a rectangular hole on the bottom of the bumper and screwed the light switch cover on to it...up side down...looks good...and definately gets more air...

for the s14's there is a kinda ovalish opening on the bottom where the stock plastic tubes go. yeah it's kinda like what you drew, but ovalish, just picture a small gear then a big gear near it, connected by a pulley belt ie: o O. Just imagine that with the belt and in a shape of an oval. All i did was mash the dryer hose through there. Works perfectly fine!
I wish I can still drive my car, about 20 more days till i get it back!!!

my idea for my buddy Chris was to make that short intake after tossing the battery to the trunk. Move the mafs over to the battery tray side, punch a hole in the battery tray and have a 90 degree bend down into the area behind your bumper, in front of your wheel well and build a funnel like device to push the air to your filter from the opening in your front bumper

yeah thats cool too, but the theory is , the shorter the intake, the more HP, the longer, more torque. I dunno if this is true, but the idea for this project was to get colder, outside air into the intake.
I cut a black plastic garbage can into an airbox that seals to the hood. The only air getting in is from the front bumper air vent and the small gap created by the "Lazy Eyes". Using a temp sensor and cruiseing at 60mpg on highway the air in the box was only 5 degress above ambiant as appossed to the 100+F temps under the hood.
