I've seen a couple mentions of dim footwell lights, but no explaination or solution. When I got my car it looked like there were no footwell lights. I found this hard to believe, so I climbed under the dash and saw that there were lights, but no usable light coming from them. The bulbs aren't that bright to begin with and the lenses were black and almost opaque. I took the lenes off which made things much better, but I don't like having to leave the lenses off. Has anyone else dug into this? I've looked at after market kits, which I'm not too interested in. I think I'd prefer to find clear replacement lenses. When I get some time I'll have to take a closer look at the fixture in the truck, it looks like it might be the same style with a clear lens.

A couple low cost #194 LED bulbs will transform the foot well light output. Checkout my M56 Interior & Exterior LED Lighting Overhaul thread for some result pics. The clear lens part# is 26421-4P000

That's the product, one of the first changes to my Q was all LED bulbs and the clear lense above.
