I'm currently looking for a 95-96 240sx. Somebody told me if i get one to make sure it is the SE model but he didn't say why. I know that the SE has a wing. But what other things does it have that the base doesn't. Does it have a better suspension or something. And if so does it make a huge difference?

A/C?

I know the base models have hubcaps, and the SE's have alloys.

i'm gonna name all the stuff the base has, then the se.

4-lug hubs, no spoiler, not the 6-speaker Clarion system most of the time, no ABD, no VLSD, no front end spoiler, not as many power things, no sunroof, 15" rims, not as tight a suspension i don't think. thats the basic stuffthe SE has power everything, sunroof, ABS and VLSD as an option, 160 watt 6-speaker Clarion sound system, 16" alloys, 5 lug, stiffer suspension, front and rear spoilers. thats the basics

Base has almost everything that SE does but like blinkor said, SE has 5 lug alloys and base has 4 lug hubcaps. SE also might have ABS and I think it has VLSD standard but it also might be an option. It also has factory fog lights adn a bottom lip on the front bumper. Maybe even side skirts. SE also might have factory sway bars. I'm saying this because I have a 95 base and it didn't come with anyof those options!

SE's have 5 lug wheels, better suspension, optional abs, optional LSD if you have ABS, white face gauges, front lip on 95-96 and side skirts on 97-98

Those Mustang rims do look damn good.

And the white/indiglo gauges on the SE models are extremely spiffy.

Champagne. Not my first color choice, but a paintjob is in the future anyway so it doesn't much matter.

K, thx for all your replys. I guess i'm gonna look for the se model then. I'm having a really hard time finding one in my area though. Well at least one in my price range, and pretty good miles on it. Does anybody know of any good used car search sites besides: Autotrader.com, cars.com, carbuyer.com, and yahoo.com/classifieds.

I think about 6 hours? Something in that neighborhood. I passed through part of Nashville driving to SC from OR a few months ago.

Not too much of a drive at all with a day or two off of work.

Well i am in Fairfield, Ca but am willing to drive about 5 to 6 hr's away. It seems that all the 240's are mostly autos. I only got about 6500 to spend but if you find one redrocket let me know. Thanks

yes i had a 94 dodge stealth r/t. But it wasn't the TT. I really liked the car but there wasn't to much of aftermarket, and whatever there was it was hella expensive. I will be taking a 75 hp loss with getting the 240 if i do get one but they are lighter so helpfully it won't be extremely slower. Also the stealth was front wheel drive so with it being so heavy. My launches sucked hella bad. Besides if i get the 240 i plan on doing the sr swap in about 1 year maybe 1 1/2 years after i get it. Do you think 6995 is to much for a 95 240sx se, with 97,000 miles on it. It's at a dealership so i guess i could get financed a little if i had to. What do you think is a good price to offer him. I was thinking of offering 6000 but i don't no if he would do it.

Well i got 5000 cash, but i could probably get a loan from my dad. But he is a very closed minded person and he doesn't like the idea of me buying a car from one of those small dealerships. Becuase he says they buy the cars back east and the salt or something like that messes up the wireing in the engine compartment. I ran a carfax report on it since i got unlimited times for a month and it did come from fort lauderdale, FL. So anybody from over there how is the wireing on your cars?
