question regarding your fuel setup...

with running what appears to be a standard 255 feeder pump (correct me if im wrong) wouldnt the 2 larger pumps drain that tank faster than the feeder pump can fill ?

dang looks sweeet, cant wait to see what it sounds like, I do hope you post a vid.

-8 AN welded to the valve covers right? How come you've stepped up to a -12 en route to the intake plenum, when the -8 will bottleneck its breathing capability?

Cheers I will have vids of the dyno tuning to start off with..

Not at all, the pcv valve internal diameter is much smaller than the dash 8 size (similar to dash 4 id), the dash 12 was required to suit the outside diameter of the pcv valve...

Looks delicious, but is that turbo really going to be good for 720bhp?

is that a new harmonic balancer, and did you powdercoat it as well.

Nah I powdercoated the balancer as well...

Turbo should be big enough, but the turbo is not the only component to consider..

when you blow nitrous into the compressor inlet, the compressor map is shifted to the right - effectively making the turbo larger...

you baked a 20 year old rubber filled balancer in an oven around 400*F?

dont take this the wrong way but a build of that caliber should be sporting a BRAND NEW oem balancer or one like in the group buy going on.

Nah its cool, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it...

If there was a problem with doing it, not only would my engineer have mentioned it, but the guys that powdercoated it for me would have said something too, they powdercoat all sorts of engine gear, inlcuding balancers...

I dont want an aftermarket pulley... I have no need for it...

because meminto & i live in Australia & ross balancers are made here, it is actually a hell of a lot cheaper for us to buy one straight from Ross than in the group buy!

I can get one for $ 368 US and sell it to you for $400 us and it would still be cheaper than what u will get in ur group buy

meminto if you havent balanced the rotating assembly from front pulley, to clutch pressure plate.....PLEASE consider a 350.00 balancer already!

you spent lavish amounts of money in other areas I.E AN fittings, and they do nothing from a performance perspective.

the advice that lots of people have to offer benefit their pockets in the end, not the end user, remember that.

I've had my engine builder "engineer" tell me without a 3 angle valve job on a certain build and I would be wasting my time as they would never seal....18 year old sr20. I took it home and lapped them in, the marks it left in the face of the valve and the seat told a different story. I saved the owner 400.00 and it had awsome compression to boot.

So what is wrong with my balancer? Seriously, tell me what is the exact issue that I will have, that you have personally have experienced? I want proof!

And yes my entire assembly has been balanced already...

I appreciate the advice, but I have no conclusive evidence that my balancer is going to cause an issue, I called a number of powdercoaters yesterday afternoon and asked the question, just to make 100% sure...

The answers I received were, "We have powdercoated harmonic balancers for a number of customers without issue"

I bought the AN fittings so I wouldnt have to change a hose for many many years, they look good, and for the ease of changing them if required...

you misunderstood my AN sentiment, I love them and have them in a bunch of places under my hood as well.

because you have already balanced the rotating assembly, I will stop trying to encourage you to get a new pulley. I still stand that a build of this caliber, with brand new rods, pistons, bearings....everything above and beyond in terms of quality and thought - would warrant a new oem pulley.

If the rotating asembly had not been balanced, I would continue to try and sway your decision

Hi no worries mate, all good

I get frustrated with people telling me what I should or shouldn't do without factual evidence or data to support the argument...

Aftermarket balancers for the CA are only relatively new in the industry... I have no idea how the ross balancers perform, what the quality is like, they havent really been tried and testing throughout the community..

As I don't really require one, I still did not want my motor to to be a gineau pig for this type of balancer...

mine can be.

I am building something of a similar level, I have already sunk several thousands of dollars into the project and I will be bolting a ross balancer to mine. My crank is balanced to itself, I did not balance it with the flywheel as the twin plate's weight will change as it wears so it seemed a short term return on the investment. The balancer should handle any vibes that might cause me. Each cylinder's package of piston, rod, rings and bolts will be brought into balance with the other three to retain the rotating assembly's balance. I have dropped a couple hundred bucks on the laboratory-grade scale to do it. I plan to have a motor stable to 9K and it building with that in mind.
