Actually, the poster listed his age on his profile and that's where I believe NightWatch got that information, not from the number of posts.mjlyn wrote:

Dude an 06 M35 for a kid in the 11th grade is pretty dang sweet. I'm 41, and a doctor, and i feel pretty good in my 06 M35.
Cripes when i was in the 11th grade i was driving a hand me down ford escort with about a 80hp 4cyl.
The G is definitley faster and probably a bit sportier for a younger driver, but you didn't go wrong with the M. If you ever go on a longer trip with your friends, especially if they are tall, they'll be glad you dont have a G.

you made the wrong decision if you bought the car to break 1/4 mile records. if you bought the car for its looks and features, then you made a VERY wise decision.xxxalpinexxx80 wrote: A few of my friends who I give rides to, say, you should have got the G35, it is so much faster, and you can tune it up so much more. I enjoy the car, it has decent power and all, but I got it for less then half the price, so I actually think it is smarter
I totally agree w/5liter. I'm 62 y/o and a doctor also (of psychology). I had to wait until I was 60 before I could buy my machine used off of e-bay ($32.5K w/35k miles). This is a more mature (not old...) man's machine what w/its sporty refinement and grace. When I was in the 11th grade and 27 y/o (?!) I apparently was a lot less mature than you. I was also into speed (that only got me tickets), raw HP and flash. I also favored a big back seat for after hours action.fiveliterbeater wrote:

the G35 is a very "cheaply" made car and so is the G37. yeah it's cool to floor it all around town, but what are you going to do when you're NOT flooring it? (which is approx 97% of the time)
young kids (and myself at one time when i was younger) cared only about how fast a car was and how it handles. as the years go by, you mature into a different man and you have different tastes in food, style and of course.....cars.
the moral of the story is that you're a kid driving a man's car hanging out with kids. what kind of criticism did you expect from 11th graders who consider TGI fridays to be a 4 diamond restaurant?
I agree, it makes perfect sense. It is better to enjoy the 97% of driving then the 3% going fast. Now I am glad with my decision : ) ThanksEniGmA1987 wrote:Im 21 and have an M, a couple people have told me I should have got a G instead. But I dont care. The M is not really that much slower, I still own all my friends in speed and driving skill, and it is far more comfortable than a G. I originally looked at a G35 coupe, but after driving the M there was no way I would have ever bought the G. It may seem more cool at your age to go fast and have a sporty looking ride. But having all the luxury is really the better choice. Less tickets, more comfortable on long road trips, and GF's parents like you better. There really isnt any downside that I can see. Let the n00bs think what they will, you got a much better car than a G.
Uh... "Dude" open up his profile and look at his AGE. It says 27mjlyn wrote:

"dude", xxxxalpinexxxx probably made a mistake in the age box and hit the #2 key on his keyboard instead of the #1 key which would make the original thread starter age 17 and in the 11th grade which makes sense. i cant believe we are all still talking about this mistake. oh well, anything to get my post count up.NightWatch wrote:

Bogus posts on here get really annoying....
LOL - Me too. Mine was the 1985 and a half 4 door hatch with a 4cly runnin on 3. I spent triple what I bought it for to keep it running!mjlyn wrote:Cripes when i was in the 11th grade i was driving a hand me down ford escort with about a 80hp 4cyl.
Yeah, I agree. I fixed my age. On anything that requires an age, I fill in something random, it is a habbit and I do it just for privacy. Don't get me wrong, I do put my real age, on important documents and what not. Now I am happy I picked the right choice : ). Thanksken in az wrote:

And to the OP - You can boost your car exactly the same as a G35 with the JWT twin turbo kit. Take a look at Vinny Ten in NY, they got one running 13 flat 1/4mi making 380rwhp. Most of the G35 parts interchange.
And for everyone that says they are a man and this is a man's car, true, but I for one am past my prime, don't get carded for booze anymore, couldn't pass for a 20something if I tried, have all the stuff that a responsible "man" my age should have, but yet I still love the power! Nothing wrong with wanting to go fast and you can do it in these cars, it just isn't as easy as bolting a turbo on your car and flooring it. You'll have to do most of the stuff on your own and probably pay more than what the other guy had to pay. But if you are serious and truely do it for "YOU" and not to impress your friends, then that's wat counts.
My circle of friends can care less about modding their car/truck. They think I'm wasting my money - alot of people see it that way. I do it because I enjoy it. I like the feeling of accomplishment when the car ticks off a few more tenths quicker in the 1/4. Sets me back in the seat, feeling the powerband roll up and shift at 7K rpm. There no where else that you can get that feeling. I don't do it to impress, I already have a girl that doesn't like modding cars, I can't stand it to have a vehicle look non-stock with wings and body kits. Throw on some 5% tint, crack the throttle and the look on the other guys face in the suped up camaro, corvette, mercedes amg, audi S4(them are sweet) is priceless. Kinda like Al Pacino in Devils Advocate - "where the hell did that come from? look on her face"
And if you are happy with the way it is - then don't let your friends tell you how to feel and what to do. That's when you stop being a person and end up with the sheeple.
hey i'm 30!SammyTheBull wrote:Still 33.......anyone care yet???
