I can only speak of my own car. When traction is lost, the slip light comes on, (spinning drive wheels). If I turn off the traction control, a seperate light, (TCS Off), illuminates and stays on.

understood... where is the " CVT " light in your car ?

I do not have a CVT.
As I understand it, the ecu recieves information from the wheel speed sensors and the vehicle speed sensor. If they're out of sync, it determines a spinning condition, (or wheel lock up when braking). It then applies traction control or abs.
If the slip light stays on, I would think that there is a problem.
