how much is it to get them shotpeened? but with everything going on with out higher power ka-t's, i think people have to stop taking the shortcut of shotpeening. Looking good though man, keep up updated

The stock rods are powder forged, just the same as the SR rods... only weaker.

Powdered forged you say. Hmm I need to find out if Toyota powder forged ours. Are car manufactors usually known to just powder forge the rods or use regular forged rods.

FINALLY!!! an update

after moving the shop, and being swamped at deatschwerks ands school, with this being spring break i am able to make some headway.

i had to fab up some motor mounts using some grade 8 bolts and hockey pucks to rotate my engine towards the passangerside to get clearance for my turbo/brake master cyl.

yesterday a friend of mine came over to help me fab up the intercoller piping and downpipe, we got the downpipe done (no pics yet) and we are going to fab up the intercooler piping later today

driver side motor mount

pass side mount

turbo in it's final resting place

also piced up a couple more parts along the way..

volke racing AV evolution, 16x7 & 16x8. one of them had a nasty curb rash but had it professionaly repaired and you can't even tell it happend. going to have them refinsihed black or bronze with a polished lip

i also picked up some z32 brakes which will be installed as well (no pics, sorry)

today i am going to finish up the intercooler piping, relocate my PS reservior and ignition coil.

tomorrow i am going to remove the oil pan and put the one in i have the oil drain bung welded into as well as put in my hicas front power steering rack and ES steering rack bushings.

My god...I played hocky for 12 years and never thought of that. I'm am going to attempt that myself soon. What a sweet idea. I was just going to weld up solid steal mounts, but the compressed rubber will be perfect.

yeah, they seem like they will work pretty well, 2 1/2 hockey pucks is about the same thickness as the stock motor mounts, but since i needed to rotate my engine about an inch for clearance, i just used two on once side and 3 on the other.

but that thing is stiff, you can't budge the engine in the engine bay, it just shakes the car.

Yeah, my buddy had a 502 BB in his Iroc with a set of solid motor mounts. Your teeth would chatter at idle...but it was so friggin cool we didn't care...lol.

those hockey pucks are the best idea I have seen to rotate the engine, I have a t304e just a little bigger than yours and was wondering how to do it, now I know, hockey puck! cool thanks for the idea!!!!!!

On one of the earlier posts, someone was looking for a block-off plate for the WG flange on their mani. I was offering mine.

well my boss (david) suggested using them for mounts before we even started my turbo project when i first met him.

after bolting everything up to test fit, i noticed i had clearance issues. after racking our brain trying to figure out how to get clearance (thought of everything from a JDM bmc, to making an adapter plate for the manifold), i came up with the idea of custom motor mounts to clock the engine for clearance.

on a side note, the car is up and running, i need to do some cleaning up in the engine bay (and the car as a whole) but hopefully i'll have pics and vids up soon.

Thats so awesome. What size bolts did you use for those mounts? and does the engine sit any higher or lower than it did before? Im just wondering about strut bar clearance.

engine doesn't really sit any higher than before that i can tell. i will have to dig out the bolts tomorrow but i think they were like 5/8" grade 8, i ended up having to buy some all thread and make my own studs though since i couldn't find any long enough
