Oh ok. I now understand and I think alot of people have been thinking along the wrong path. Greg has been called out and he has acknowledged what has happended. I guess he is just held to a higher expectation being the owner and all. So this means that the price quotes and the availability of these headers are basically out the window?

I really don't understand what most of your statements are about.

Do you for some reason think that there is no other shop in the US that is able to make headers for the G50? On the thread that Greg made, you consistantly asked Greg if the headers were made by the same shop that made your's. I found that very weird.

Of course there are other shops that are able to make headers for the G50. Just because you guys haven't heard of them, doesn't mean that they don't exist. Anyboy that has the time and money can get a performance set of headers for the G50, made at almost any exhaust shop in the US.

To me, it seemed that you thought you were losing some of your G50's "uniqueness". It seemed that you didn't like the idea that "maybe" somebody else had a set of headers made for the G50, that were not based on the same jig as yours.

Now, I might (and probably am) completely wrong, but that's what it seemed like to me.

I'm curious, how did you find out that this information was false?

Yep - no headers for joo.

Unless, of course, you wanna "borrow" Rob's car and have another set made.

Headers were never going to be profitable enough to justify the initial investment anyway... Several lessons learned out of this ordeal.

Yo P you are right in that you can get the job done, but I guess if you have proven results you would want to see if you could have that duplicated instead of spending the same if not more on a shot in the dark. Greg I will not steal rob's car for the sake of performance now for rims...."maybe"

I have this recurring dream that Rob wins the lottery on the same day as his Q throws a rod, and my phone rings with him offering me "dibs" on the carcass...

Is that wrong of me?

LOL!!!!!!

I want to go out like Wes did and blow the engine drag racing. I don't think many people can say that they have actually blown and engine while they drove the car. Wes did it at 18....my dad did it in his GTO...just maybe I will do it in my Q45. Only time will tell. Must be the worst "ohh $hit" feeling hearing your engine blow when not expecting it.

Actually, there aren't all that many exhaust shops around that can custom make headers, let alone good ones. At least not in my area. There is only one exhaust shop in the state of Oregon that has mandrel bending equipment. Aside from that, I have visited many exhaust shops in the Portland area and have yet to find one that knows more about exhaust than me. Kinda scary.

It is the worse feeling ever..... you see your beautiful car, still looks perfect, but you bring it to life and just hear it clunk to life...

And like its been said, the drag racing didnt kill the car... The LAWYER DID!!

PMQ......

you are totally missing the boat on this and will not go into it much further, but under now circumstances do I want a unique Q that nobody else has. I don't give a $hit if I am the only one with headers or if all the Q owners have them. You have not the slighest clue on what went into to get these headers and who I worked with in NICO to try to organize a group buy so that several of us NICO members could have headers. Hell...I want others to have them so that they can whip some others cars on the freeway. Go find yourself a shop that will even consider making headers....trust me it can't be done as easily as you think and we have been down that path before. Go to find yourself a Mienke shop since you and make yourself happy.

I was asking Greg specifically about who and where did the other set of headers came from to make sure that he was saying it was from my shop becuase ONE...there is a slight problem with my headers so I don't want others to pay for something that does not work and TWO I knew that it was practically impossible for a copy to be made as for they told me that a copy can't be made without my car and I see them about once a month for a project that they are working on for a friend of mine so they would have mentioned about making a second set. Besides....I do have a phone you know and can easily call them as well to ask them directly.

There was no jig ever made....read the post!!! So there could never have been a copy of my headers made!!! That is the one of my points for this post.

Since you think it is so easy to find a shop to make G50 headers....why don't you find me 5 shops in Florida (Florida is a bigh state remember) and post the info here on NICO for others to consider getting headers to give them a cheaper alternative. I seriously bet you can't find 5 quality shops in Florida to do the job. The shop I had build my car builds NHRA professional drag cars.

And to answer your last question......Yes...You are completely wrong.

Rob & Greg, I have dealt with both of you "outside the forum" and I think both of you are great, upstanding guys. Greg, you have helped me out several times, and Rob, you offered to drive a couple hours, just to look at a car for me.

I wish everyone on the web were like you guys.

I still fully intend to buy Greg's cat-back exhaust system (that is IF it really exists )

You both have added to the knowledge of NICO, and I appreciate it.

Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to "push the envelope" in Q45 mods.

It is available. It's not cheap, but is full stainless.

Dyno numbers would have to come from Rob, as he's the only one so far that has one.

In my opinion, its a better setup than the Stillen catback of a decade ago.

WTF awholelotta BS over some juvenile gripe. ROB save the DRAMA for your MAMA and grow up. Everybody go ahead and kiss his a$$ for some perceived whatever the hell it is. I am personally disgusted with this highschool crap around here and so are many others (look how postings have dropped). What a bunch of BS; I'm not gonna bother anymore if this is the way it is with people. I'm outtahere, even though there are some very nice people here. I'm disgusted.

squeefoo.....EAT ME you cheap shot MOFO!!!!! And Leave my Mama out of it you @#$%&%!!!!

Read the damn post....no where am I bitching about price. I could really give a damn about price. This had to do with several statements on various different things that Greg said were built, researched, or in the process of being built that did not exist nor ever would exist over the past few months. You need to go back and get your GED since you can't figure out this has nothing to do with pricing.

Come on guys lets just keep it at what it is. A simple misunderstanding that has been rectified. Dont come in at the end of the thread and start crap. The error has been pointed out and dealt with. Move on.
