So i came across this today....

http://www.andysautosport.com/nissan/20 ... 10079.html

Anyone ever seen this before? I searched the forums and found nothing about it.... $124 for a short ram seems like a pretty crazy deal. DC sports is a solid company too...

Let me know if you have any knowledge about this item. Otherwise i may have to be the guinea pig...

UPDATE*** 4/18/2011

Intake Delivered. Cant get around to install until probably tomorrow. More Pics Upon install.

Intake looks great though. Well machined product from the looks and good looking filter as well. We will see how it all fits!!

UPDATE*** 4/20/2011

INTAKE INSTALLED. TOOK 15-20 MINUTES FROM BEGINNING OF REMOVAL OF STOCK AIRBOX TO COMPLETE INSTALL OF SHORT RAM.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

First off...install was a breeze. Everything fit perfectly. Took me a minute to figure out where top install vibra mount but one quick look at the directions cleared that up....

The directions are just hand written steps, no pictures. I promise you pictures are far from necessary even if you are not good at this kind of thing.

As for performance... I can definitely notice better throttle response throughout all ranges...not much power changes on the bottom end but definitely a little more pull in the higher RPM's....

Sound...low end RPM's is not much different...just a little more of a low purrr...The high end RPM's sound MEANNNNN. It can really scream in high RPM's but not an obnoxious ricer sound. It is exactly what i was looking for in an intake and i got it for much cheaper than I planned.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS GIVE THIS BAD BOY A SHOT!!!! Let me know if you have any questions.

I've never heard of that brand before...you may have to be the guinea pig...or how about getting an ebay short ram kit, then get an Injen or K&N or Takeda or AEM conical filter??

^^ it could be because they mainly specialize in parts for the civic. I'm still suprised they made an intake tho I'm still trying to find more info on it

Their website shows they make it in a short ram and a cold air....and the website i shared the link for is a reputable site. I have ordered parts from there for my Mazda 6 back in the day.Thinkin about just biting the bullet some time next week. We will see...

Good to see some more intake choices pop up!

DC Sports has been around a long time and they make solid products. I am very excited to see this! I believe they're partnered with (or owned by) AEM so I would look for it to use a similar filter.

Either way, for $125 it is definitely worth a shot. I looked on their official website and it looks to be a very new part as they do not yet have images posted. The part number and application are indeed matching though, so I say go for it!

Shoot Xenon already beat me to the news. My buddy from the socalevo forum is sponsored by DC Sports and he told me that its confirmed that They indeed made a new intake for the altima. The company used to be owned by AEM but they part ways already

Thats a heck of a task just to organize it. Let alone find all the parts that are missing.

So i decided to just unplug my battery for a few mins to reset the CEL...since then it has turned off and stayed off even after pushing it pretty hard. My MPG have dropped to around 19-20 at this point because im constantly wanting to hear the intake ...not good time for the gas prices to hit $4.00/gal....FML

Engine light is back on and i didnt even push my car at all this time....just daily driving. Gonna give it a few hundred miles to adjust. If its not gone by 200-300 miles i probably have an engine light that will not turn off i guess...Car runs perfectly fine just sucks to see that light all the time.

So SES light is still on...im thinking i may have possibly put the MAF in the opposite direction...didnt think this would make a difference but will swap it after work tomorrow and see if it changes anything....Wish me luck!!!

Alright so thats impossible....MAF can only go in one way. Out of ideas....Im at 130 miles with the service engine soon light on. Going to give it another 80-100 miles...if its still on im in some trouble.

Im posting to myself here...anyone wanna shed some light on the subject for me???

Try an idle relearn. Might clear it up. Id post a link about it but all the results Google is bring back are for other forums and I dont want to get b**** slapped by mods. Just search Google for Nissan Altima Coupe idle re-learn. Its one of those odd "step on the gas 5 times in 5 seconds, turn off the engine, turn on the engine for 10 seconds and turn it off again" things. Helped mine out.

I'm not being critical here, but I noticed the vacuum hose/MAF sensor are so close together and on opposite sides. Could the vacuum be pulling air away from the sensor? My Takeda has both of these on the same side, plus that MAF sits right above the brake fluid reservoir, that seems odd, IMO. If you keep getting the lights I would put the OEM back on and see what happens. Good luck man

Ya this isnt looking good. Let me add, the car is running absolutely perfect still. I have to take the car to nissan for my first free service appointment and i dont want my first visit to be with a SES light on :/ Just doesnt look good IMO....So i will prolly go to stock if this continues after a few days.

Im also about to get the racingline y-pipe and a borla exhaust. I wanted to hear those each by themselves on the car and make sure each of those are running properly. So reverting to the stock airbox seems to be my best move soon. We will see.

One other thing...that spare breather hose that just clips onto the airbox...That is supposed to stay open and pointing down right??? just want to list every possible issue...

Give this a go...

1) Start the engine and get it to "warm up" temperature.
2) Turn the car ignition key to "OFF"
3) Wait ten seconds - USE A STOPWATCH
4) Turn the key to "ON" (not start)
5) Wait three seconds. - USE A STOPWATCH
6) Fully press and release the gas pedal 5 times within five seconds. - USE A STOPWATCH
7) Wait 7 seconds from the last of the 5 seconds above - USE A STOPWATCH
8) Fully press the gas pedal and hold down. Within ten seconds the "Service Engine Soon" light should begin to blink.
9) Wait another ten seconds (while still holding the gas pedal) and the "Service Engine Soon" light should stop blinking.
10) As soon as it stops blinking, release the pedal, start the car
11) Let the car idle for about 25 seconds, rev the engine a few times and then let it return to idle.
