Go to an autozone or something and have them use an OBD2 code scanner to see what it might be.

So i did the idle relearn word for word with the directions. Something definitely changed. My idle dropped from a little under 1000 to around 600 or so. I still have my SES light but im sure it takes a little while to adjust and turn off. Ill give it some time i guess but we will see...

The important part of the re-learn is the timing. You have to be spot on with your timing and when it says to rev the engine at the end STEP ON IT. Forget your neighbors, floor it hard and then let it relax. I let mine idle for about 10 minutes after the last step was complete.

Hah....well i have to tell you i did the timing absolutely perfect....but i didnt step on it at the end. I guess next time i wont do it at 11pm. That way my neighbors wont be half as mad...Will try when i get home from work.

Alright so i've done the idle re-learn perfectly...i promise you. Still no result even after the major rev at the end....

Last thing i can think of before i go to autozone to the code is this picture below...

Image

Please note the piece circled in yellow....

I noticed some pics of peoples coupes with SRI and this was on some and not on some....

Should this be removed? If so the intake did not come with the proper size hose to fit this vacuum line. Think i might go to a hardware store and get a piece of pvc or something to fit them together without that black box. What do you guys think???

More pics. You should definitely have that hose connected. Its odd, your very first pic up top it looks like you do , but in the others it looks like you dont.

the hose is always connected....just notice that black box is still on. I see some people have a K&N without that box...this intake vacuum line is way thicker than the one on the K&N it appears. I have to take it off tonight probably because i have my first service with nissan Saturday....sucks

Hey csmith, I just ordered the DC Sports SRI as well for my Honda Civic.
From the looks of it, or at least in the beginning of your post, it seems like the SRI is working pretty well for you.
But is it now giving you problems with the sensors?

I was super excited to see a positive review about it from you but I'm not so sure anymore... I wouldn't want my service light to be on.

I mean it works great and fits perfect. The only issue is the SES light. I took mine out because i had a service up at the dealership the other day. Om going to try and figure out a solution hopefully by the end of the week. But i just install my borla exhaust yesterday and love it!!!! Gotta get my y-pipe in hopefully later this week. On the roa for business til wednesday tho :/

Kesooni.... Dont let my SES light worry you too much. You are doing this on your honda so every vehicle is different. I could just have a sucky MAf sensor.

Haha thanks man, that's good to know! I'm probably going to have it installed sometime this week.
Hopefully none of the lights will pop up on my dashboard.

Did you remove the SRI because the dealership wouldn't service your car if you had the aftermarket intake on?
I usually take my car in for routine maintenance and checkups and I would be sad if they refused to do anything
for me just because I have an aftermarket intake under the hood...

Usually they wont say anything but it was my first service (i have 4000 miles on my car) and just didnt think it would look too good especially considering my car is a lease. Whoops :/ hah. So i dont think ypu have anything to worry about.

Most dealerships won't make a big deal about something as small as an intake, but I've heard some horror stories about sketchy a** dealerships trying to blame an intake on something else that has absolutely nothing to do with the intake system. Be weary, is all I suggest...

Hope you get it all sorted out ASAP (in regards to the error light). I wanted to pick up this intake as well, but seeing there might be a problem with it I might wait a little while longer to see where this goes. Good luck!

NO heat shield....but i can tell you that i drove for about 35 minutes straight and uninstalled the intake shortly after...it wasn't even that hot...
Wouldn't worry too much about heat in that region

Is there anyone here that can comment on short ram intakes and SES lights on the AC??? I reinstalled my intake and threw another SES light. This intake the crank case stays on the intake. Is this how other intakes have worked?

Ive done the idle relearn perfectly on 2 occasions and no changes. All out of answers here although i do want to try my idea of removing the crank case somehow.... Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

Been a while now.. just thought I'd see if anybody else picked up this intake, or if OP figured out why that SES light was coming up.
