Mods will prolly move your question to the Y51 forum...

what do you mean by "strange"? a little more detail might give other guys a little help in diagnosing your problem.

Although I know it seems ridiculous since you're just swapping bulbs, but disconnect your battery!!! If you accidentally short that circuit, fiddling with the bulb, a blown fuse may be the least of your worries - you can fry the BCM and/or other dash harnesses that are not easy to get to.

You should look at Debonair''s How To/FAQ for help on changing out bulbs: howto-access-and-replace-all-bulbs-m37- ... 99891.html

hey thanks . what I'm asking is do I need a special bulb type ? I have installed two of the led bulbs I used for the inside of the car . when I turn on the head lights on "auto mode" in the day time , all of the lights come on . head, daytime ,fog . only daytime running lights should be on . when I turn the car off ,the lights should stay on for 30 seconds . now they go off instantly . when the setting in on 30 seconds . it was operating fine before , with the new bulbs I'm getting these strange symptoms . I believe it a 12Volt I bought for the inside .
thanks David

Its been my experience that LEDs can cause fast flashing for the turn indicators, and LEDs will only illuminate when plugged in one way (ie: reversing the position in the socket). This is the first I've heard of an LED bulb affecting the light sensor or timed settings. My first place to check would be the light sensor on the driver side dash near the defrost vents. If you haven't already checked, make sure the sensor has a clear 'sight' out the windscreen. My dash cover can, at times, shift slightly and it blocks the sensor on the dash to a degree that makes the car think nit's evening when it's not. Also to consider, since I have the older generation without factory DRLs, my DRLs are wired separately direct to the battery terminals. Perhaps newer vehicles require a resistor of sorts to prevent feed back to the car that isn't in keeping with what is expected from that circuit?

Two things: You have a 2013 like myself. If you have the fog light switch in the on position during the day, the daytime/nighttime auto feature will not work.

Also, you must be in Canada? as there are no daytime driving lights on 2013's in the states. Do you mean fog lights? To get around that I replaced the fog light bulbs with LEDs and rewired them to the ign switch. They're are on all the time when driving, day or night but I want it this way.

Im in the Carolinas , ok didn't know that .thanks . I just like the LED lights . there in the fog , and I put them in that socket that you can access from the side in the engine bay . thought those are the day time running lights . also if anyone knows when I take off from a stop I get quite a bit of hesitation before it kicks in . then it really goes . using K&M filters and premium fuel . thanks everyone .
I will add some pix soon

I'd get rid of your K&N filter ASAP, but that's just me after having (and many others having) issues with the MAF as a result of the oil in those filters.

That's probably not your issue. The Y51 M's have a lag issue which is transmission/software based...many of us suffer from it. You'll get used to it.

I personally use the Purolator brand from Advance Auto Parts...but I change it so often it really doesn't make a difference. I'm anal with my maintenance and change things way before they probably need to be changed. I change my filters every 15kmi.

IMO, you're the exception, not the rule. There were dozens of people on Maxima.org (myself included) who had their MAF's fail and virtually all pointed to the K&N filter. No concrete evidence as it's hard to prove but it's up to each individual. Who knows, maybe the Infiniti M MAF's are better built and thus K&N's don't kill them, but after needing to spend $200 on a MAF for my Maxima back in like 2007 when I was a broke 20yr old within 200 miles of installing a K&N filter, I told myself 'never again'. I do use K&N's on my motorcycles, because there is no MAF to worry about.

I believe we've already beat this horse though...so it is what it is. All are welcome to disregard my (or others) recommendation but I've been around Nissan products for a long time (2 Maxima's followed by 2 M's)...

It's all good in the hood though.
