This is in no means to down play or undermind dauntless, but I would like to know if there is anyone on this board who has actually ordered from him and received their products? Has anyone had him do the SR20DET swap? I just ask because I would like to order a engine from him, but I see a lot of people who have been waiting a long time for their engines but have not received anything as of yet. Thanks for any input.

I ordered my motor from him a while back, but have not received it yet. I don't have a problem with this though because I talk to him almost every day on AIM and he keeps me pretty well updated with what is going on. So far he has been a really great guy to work with and he is VERY knowledgeable. I am in no hurry to get my engine since I can't really do anything with it until may anyway so I plan on sticking with Dauntt no matter how long it takes for me to receive my engine.

I highly recommend that you look him up on AIM or shoot him an e-mail, that way you can hear the story directly from him instead of hearsay on the boards. His prices are great and he quite possibly has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Great things come to those who wait...

yeah but its funny how he first started advertising selling engines 6 months ago in Sept. and now here everyone is still waiting...it's also funny how a lot of ppl have pre-ordered engines from him, but no one is posting here to say how please they are with his business. am i the only one here who is not brainwashed?

ummm, I only ordered my engine in January and when I ordered it I was told up front that it would take a while to get it. I am not at all owrried by the fact that it may be March before my engine comes because I can't do anything with it until the end of May anyway. Besides, Dauntt has been keeping me (and others who have motors on the way) up to date with everything that is going on. As far as I am concerned, he is doing a fine job. Circumstances beyond his control have caused some delay, but he has been honest and upfront about them since day one and a person has to respect that. Besides, his prices are very competitive and I am able to send him money in small chunks instead of one large sum at one time. That in itself is one of the reasons I decided to buy my motor from him.

I bought from him and so far I am pleased with the customer support I have received.

Thats exactly my point SWIFT_DRIFT. So what is the reason for such the delay of getting the engines delivered?

It's complicated and it really isn't my place to be telling everyone Dauntt's issues. Maybe he will see this and post a thing or two about a thing or two...

Hehe, well, I'll respond now, I didn't want to post as my own reference. : ) No one who has purchased an engine from me has received one yet. However, I didn't start selling in September. I had originally planned to take orders for my first shipment in September, but didn't take anyones money on them. Then, I got sick in October and that delayed the opening of my business. Because I got sick, I lost several of the investors that I had planned to have, which pretty much ruined my plans for immediately opening because I no longer had the financial resources that I had access to in September. October passed, the first half of November passed, and I was again setup to open, so Thanksgiving week I started taking deposits on my first shipment of engines, that was the first time I asked for a deposit, and of course it was completely optional, a lot of people who wanted to buy from me decided not to be involved, as I remember you were one of them Swift. I clearly stated that I didn't know the arrival date, but I had hoped to have them here by the end of the year, everyone who was involved was clearly informed of everything and understood up front. Well, as everyone on that shipment knows, things did not work out as planned for about a month. In the beginning of January things appeared to be rolling finally. I informed everyone of what was going on, and offered to return any deposits of people who didn't want to stay in the deal. Everyone opted to stay, we waited, another month went by and my current mess came up. It wouldn't have been as big of a mess as it was, but I had already taken deposits from everyone. That brings us to today, the mess is finally taken care of, the next shipment, which is now becoming my first shipment due to the aforementioned mess, will be here approximately March 20th as it will be shipping imminently as soon as I find a new shipping company. I again informed everyone of that fact, and told them what they were going to get because of the delay if they decided to stay in the deal, and if they didn't I'd return their deposits with interest. Thus far, I've returned 3 or 4 deposits, so you're welcome to ask those guys if they received their money back ( which they all did ), and there's 1 more who has to wait a week or two, then he'll have his money back as well. Suffice to say, I now have my facility and everything, but I have no engines, so I'll have to sit around and "operate" ( ie pay bills ) with no way to make money, which kind of sucks. : ) Whereas before I had engines and no facility. So things still haven't worked out perfectly, but after this is cleared up there should be smooth sailing. If you want the full story, which is about 100 times longer than this, you can email me. [email protected] - Or you can ask one of the guys who are actually on my shipment and in the loop. : ) Keyy is one of them. Also, when I took deposits I told people that things might not happen exactly as planned, which I am happy I did, because things definitely did not go as planned. After this, everything will have a guaranteed date, but of course Murphy's Law applies and everything that could go wrong, did, on this first shipment. Hmm, I think that's everything, I'll link this to some of the guys who's money I returned and see if they feel like commenting. : )

I am that one guy that is waiting 1-2 weeks for my money back. Dauntless has always been great, always answered emails/ims/phone calls. Answered any and all questions about the sr and anything regarding the swap. He also offered me a great deal, but my biggest problem is i cant have the car down much longer. It has sat all winter not running. Once he gets things up and running i would go through him in a hartbeat.

Personally, I think Daunt has done a great job of keeping us informed and happy. Things happened that were beyond his control and because of that he has stepped up to the plate and done whatever it takes to make everyone happy. Personally, I knew that this might happen and I knew I would not have any set arrival date. I think all in all he has been a great business man and as he has taken care of us thus far, I am sure his product will be as high of quality as promised.

I still think you should hold out BP. : ) I'll have pictures of my 1/4 finished shop up tomorrow. The new engines will be here in March...much too long to wait especially considering I'm technically supposed to be open right now. : (

I give him 2 thumbs up. I wanted to stay with him but i had to get a motor in my 240 as I am military and in the middle of getting my bags packed to leave. I told him my deal and i had my deposit back in a week. He has always been there for me and he WILL come through for all the others as he stated. When i get back i will be needing parts and he will be the guy i go to...hands down.

After this first shipment arrives, I"ll just be bringing shipment after shipment because demand is so high. I had planned to bring shipments every 5 weeks, but I'll bring them as fast as my suppliers can put them together if it's worth it. : )

Daunttless:

Hey man!!! Sorry to hear about the problems you have run into trying to get your business off the ground. But with all the good words coming from those you have served, and those you attempted to serve and could not wait, I am almost sure I will be seeing you for my motor. Having spent several years in retail management, I understand and appreciate superior customer service. Karma is real, and from what I have read, the hurdles that you have defeated will allow for great leaps in your business after it gets up. I wish you the best, and I would like to talk with you further about my desire to do an SR swap. (My PMing has been disabled it says.... I dunno why.) If I decide against the SR swap, I would be more than happy to find out more about your turbo ready KA's. (Saves me from having to pull mine, rebuild, and drop back in.) I travel many forums, just recently for my 240 (newly acquired). Mostly for my choice of dog breed, and have found that those who usually flame or attack are those who have never had direct dealing with the individual being discussed, or their paranoia state allows them to make assumption based on unfounded comments and sceptism. Again, kudos to you, and K+++ (Karma +++) to you and your business ventures.

Yellow Jacket:

I have been trying to track you down for a quick second thru PM, but mine doesn't work. I didn't want to address you in public forum either, but now I figure what the hell!!! LOL :D I am here in Norcross, newly acquired '95. Plan to visit the guys at Dave & Buster's this Saturday. Now finding out you are doing an SR, especially thru Daunt, maybe we could hook up and shoot the s***??? I would be more than willing to load up and go visit daunt if your down, once he gets up and running. I don't know if you are having yours delivered or if you are going to let him drop it in, but give me a holla..... MAybe you can PM me, and I will send my #....... Be easy......

That's tight......... too bad your away right now. I need some insight into my ride. One reason for meeting the 240s over ATL crew this Saturday @ Dave & Buster's, or at least those that decide to go. This is such a small damn world man..... I too live on Peachtree Corners Circle, but down towards the QT near Peachtree Industrial. Ya know??? Where Jones Mill turns into Peachtree Corners Circle. Well, when you come back to town, give me a holla!!!
