I met this girl through a friend in the dorms. She's a great girl and fun to be around. Very cute as well. She's not much of a car girl, but likes the cougar. But that's neither here nor there.

I would liek to know whats a good first day, as in, what should I ask her to do? I want somethign low-key with no pressure. Just a friends sort of deal. I want to take it slow. Help needed. Thank you all.

Just go up to her and ask if she'll have sex with you, get it over with.

i really don't like dinner because to me it's

1. more serious and boring 2. your expected to pay--- so that's not good for the wallet

my advice is go to a place that has a lot of things going on... that brings up somethings to talk about.

like the beach to go or have some coffee something cheap and simple. remember it's just the first day so you want to get to know the person before you spend too much cash on them. and if she has a car you guys can race.

If you are too cheap to take her to dinner, things won't last too long. No offense meant at all, it's just the way things work.Dinner doesn't have to be a fancy restaurant. Just go to some place with a booth for privacy. Like Crown Burger or Red Robbin. But movies work well for first date, too. Keeps awkward silences and tension possibilities to a minimum; things go more smoothly.

NO MOVIE. First dates are good for getting to know one another and movies don't really provide the opportunity to do so.

I say go for a walk, go watch a school game/tourney together, then grab lunch... or if you're cheap like rousie13 haha, just go for coffee and something small.

Yeah definately take her to Red Robin. But whatever you do, don't pay. Make her pay. I always make girls pay. I know it sounds stupid, but do it. It makes the date break the bounds of 'ordinary' and if something is out of the ordinary then the memory in our minds will last longer and won't seem bland.

I'm pretty liberal but Im still conservative/old fashioned when it comes to dating. I believe the guy should pick up the tab for dates if he asks you out and until you guys become a couple. I don't pay for dinners until the dating turns into a relationship, and even then it's optional.

Just don't even try. The only place dating this girl will get you is the realm of despair, depression, and misery. I dont care if it's now or 50 years later, you're better off if you just never start a thing like that.

If you're both students, invite her to a school function, football game, concert, comedy night,or a fall foliage drive/walk, shoot some pool. If you stop somewhere for coffee (or a beer) afterwards, don't be a frigging cheapskate and pay the 5 bucks. It's very easy to go on cheap dates in college (very easy when you're broke, like I was). There's always stuff to do when you're young. If she's not into cars, then don't do something that puts emphasis on cars. The emphasis should be something you think she'd enjoy and you wouldn't mind doing.

Enjoy.

Go on a picnic. It's somthing that doesn't cost that much money, allows time to talk, and she'll love it even more if you make the food yourself. Bring some pasta salad, sandwiches, and some bubbly. (or soda, water, whatever) Definetly bring a red-and-white checkered blanket, cause those rock.

Oh, and play her a song on the guitar. That is, if you know how to play...

wow. it's nice when guys i'm around/ have been with come up with new things to do/places to go. Especially if they relate to my personality and what i like (obviously, or it would be a flop).

Something outdoors and lighthearted, just go out somewhere, park or something, and walk around with maybe a picnic. Go get some coffee and keep just wandering and talking wherever.

Wandering/talking makes the most fun dates ever, period.

The guitar thing is a good idea too, if you're that hopeless romantic type and if she's in to that, but that may be getting ahead of yourself in the sense that it may come off as trying too hard... just a thought...

Lucky you... so much more fun to be in the beginning than in the dog house...

If she's the outdoorsy type.......apple picking, pumpkin patch, hay ride or hiking are fun ideas.

What does she like to do from what you know so far?

She's not much of a car type girl I've gathered, which is good. I don't like my girls to be car freaks. From what I'm knowing at this point, she just likes to hang out with her friends. She's not athletic (she says), so I'm not real sure on this.

Try the apple orchard/cider mill thing. All the girls I talked to loved the idea when I thought of it. Or maybe a museum/botanical gardens?

Gymnasts can be fun.....hopefully will soon be dating a fellow soccer player.
