Ok so my AC 09' is the first car I can call my own. I have never modified a car before and there's a few things I want to do. I have NO IDEA  what I am doing and I don't want to take it to the shop where they will just feed me a bunch of crap, especially since I'm a girl.

Firstly, RIMS... my hub caps are embarrassing. I was looking for all black with a chrome lip (I'm doing a black and gray theme, already tinted the tail lights). But I want to know the measurement guidelines so I don't mess up my car with something that doesn't fit properly. Something like this....

Also, I want to add brighter bulbs in my tail lights, the tints are a bit too dark and HIDs in the front BUT... I was warned that if I get a voltage that is too high, I could possibly burn out a fuse, and I'm really worried about voiding my warranty with something small. IS THIS TRUE?? If someone knows the voltage AC's can handle, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

OH... and some black/chrome grille ideas would be nice if anyone has some pics to share. Was thinking black mesh with chrome emblem (or vice-versa), but I'm open to other ideas.

Thanks :bigthumb:

hey welcome to the forums. where are you from? I'm Libyan..... as for the HIDs, get the 35 watt ones. the 55 watt HIDs are the ones that people warn not to get. theirs a company called DDM tuning that has a lifetime warranty and their like $40. I bought my HIDs for $40 from ebay and wish I would have gotten the DDM tuning ones.

NY Arabian I am going similar them as you, I should have some pics of black grill in 2 weeks or so. My wheels are matte charcoal, they are a bunch of charcoal/black wheels out, just have to search. Def DDM for the headlights.

hey wats up & welcome! im actually guyanese & live in the long island/queens area but my car is in fl.

you chose a very nice set of rims for you car to start with. as for the rims the bolt pattern must be 5x114. as for the size it would be up to you whether you get 18 or 19's.

as for the whole hids thing you can order watever k you want. i would recommend 6000k or 8000k. those are the most popular with 35watt hids. & if you blow a fuse it will not void you warranty. all you would have to do is go to advance & purchase a new fuse.

the grill i would suggest making it black & keep away from chrome. in my opinion too much chrome makes a car look blahhhhhhh

to nisomogxs21 18 or 19s? you could go with 17s with a good drop or 20s as well, I have 20s on my car and it looks nice. Also chrome grilles don't look good? I would like to think my car looks nice considering that I get compliments everywhere I go and my grille isn't chrome it's stainless steel (some with rims) but it's looks close enough to chrome.

I would agree though always start with your rims, before anything. Outside of that, it depends on what your going for looks or performance. I personally, go for performance over looks. But if looks is what you want, rims, grille, lights, leds to like up your floor mats, custom lights, cf/fiber glass hood, paint job (if your looking to go away from the stock look), lower the car, pipes.
