Thanks Blake, although it's cool that its being credited to me, i really have to give credit to NICO. Without this forum, my mods or anyone's mod wouldn't be anything. Here's to NICO!!!!

BTW, hows the turbo coming along? I'm sure it'll be sick!
Haha, nice job on the modesty, however, they all have to be credited to someone The turbo is coming, Tim had a death in the family that he has to attend to before the project is completed. So we are holding off until he has all that taken care of. We are also still waiting on the turbo to be completed at turbonetics

That's fine Rob, You are entitled to your opinions and in no way shape or form am I downing you for that. Yes, it was a an afterthought and yes it was a cheap and easy mod. But it works and it accomplishes what I wanted to do without messing up $900 housings. When the coupe has been out for a bit and I can get a set of housings for less than $1800, then I'll play around with the idea again. Until such time though, this will do.

As for your statement of my being coy and planned this out, I never said such things. I said my initial attempt failed and when I was putting back the fascia, I had a second thought and for the heck of I tried it. Luckily, it worked out for me. You also mentioned that you expected more from me because of the time and thought spent planning on my coupe. Well like i mentioned before. If it looked cheap I wasn't going to do it. However, after doing it, it didn't look like *** so I forged forward with the project. You might be right about the christmas light effect though....

BTW, your two cents do count! You've contributed a lot to this forum and when it comes to audio electronics, your the man I look up too!

dangeris wrote:Is it bowing in the corners you asked? Yes it is but very slightly. Not so bad it's blatant. The fascia has NEVER sat right ever since it was installed anyway. I even went as far as replacing the factory side clips on both sides that the fascia slides into but it still works its way out and I have to keep pushing it back in.
I have the exact same issue with my fascia - nothing I do seems to hold it in place...

Dude i'm thinking it might look tight in the vents on the lower side of the fascia. What do you think? This is just a quick thing in paint, but you can see the general idea, kinda like the S6 pictured above?

Same thing with mine. I drilled holes on the inside lip of the fascia (where the top and bottom bolt together) and tied zip ties to the frame, pulling in the corners to the correct sitting point

1st off, way to repost what I stated above

2nd... Dangeris has already done his LED running lights, now don't give him any more ideas, (besides, I've already ordered some LED's from Oznium and will be doing the lights on the lower open end of the factory fascia this week... We'll see how it looks, but I'll be using different LED strips!)

Dangeris,Innovation takes thought, and I'm glad you jumped at this... we just have a difference of opinion on how it came out... but I respect your initiative regarding this... its OK for great minds to clash once in a while

Blake, Did you have to do it through the wheel wells? My big hands will never fit through the fascia vents.

Can't wait to see it Rob! Blake's idea doesn't sound bad at all but Rob is right, I already do have my running lights but if I can relocate my turn signals there, that would look tight!

I actually took out all the plastic underneath the car. And was able to find points where i could tie these too. I will take pics next time I redo these. When I get the car back from SFR I will have to redo all these because of the intercooler.

Not bad. Kinda reminds me of a semi with their lights all lined up. I'm interested in how it will hold up to the elements. I'm also waiting for someone to go completely overboard and string their car up like a Xmas tree... nttawwt

Even though I think it looks pretty good, I have to agree with rob on this. Personally inside the housing would look much better to me. I noticed the uneven lines too.

But overal its still cooler than my alone stock lights, and until I get the balls to try and do something like this myself, I doubt I will ever have lights that look any different than they already do.

its a very nice clean solution to the objective....im not nutty about the amount of lights tho...and as for running em in the vent...eh...as someone mentioned ..may be a little to much!but yea it gets the feel across which is the important thing!...when u tried with the gun....did u stay in one spot?....or cover a whole area? if ya stayed in one spot that could have been the issue....did u break a seam at all...youd know cause ud hear a sucking sound...kinda like tupperware...if you did make sure you get some silicon on it or you might get moisture bulidup isues.......i am taking my sweet azz time with it tho...i even mentioned to LBC that i wasnt gonna say anything at all when i got the idea..but i couldnt resist!

i recessed my led housings in to the front rail last week and now have to fill and sand the areas clean....its gonna take time....but when its all done it'll look factory and..it'll be unique!

Yeah I tried to cover a whole area and tried NOT concentrating the heat onto one place. Didn't work out though. Looking at the headlight, it seems that the lens and the housing slide into one another instead of one on top of the other. I was able to break through but the darn thing wouldn't budge. Didn't want to end up cracking the lens. If that happened I would have been pissed! That's when I called it quits and accept my failure. Your's going to look really sweet! Can't wait to see the end result. It definitely will be a one of a kind! Oh yeah, I siliconed the crap out of it before reinstalling. Don't want condensation int he lights!

You and me both Brian....you and me both. Seems like we'll have to wait for some aftermarket company to come out with headlights so we can bake those!

I know you have my links, lets put em on together! Whenever u want let me know and i can be at your house around 6ish any day of the week.(this sat morning would be PERFECT THOUGH) and ill show you all my leds!

Anyway, dangeris, that looks pretty nice. Your car looks better w/o the headlight overlays btw.
