Love the Q.
They are ridiclously cheap to buy ,for what they are.early Q's are (in todays dollars) $60,000 ma-cheens, and were a bargain at that price.
They have depreciated by $55,000.
A Q is a blessing if you get a good one (for example if someone were to buy mine, I predict no major expenses for a year maybe 2 or more)If you get a neglected one make sure its real cheap and understand that it may need $5000 to get into 90% as new condtion.
90% as new condtion is my personal standard some PPL accept 85% others want 100% and the average driver makes do with 60%.
I am on my fourth Q45.Last Q totaled pics of the ivory one and my current dark green:http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....word=
the one before that sold given to friend, the one before that one lost to chain guides.
Owners tend to be passionate about them.
As for milage I get between 19 and 22 mpg on the hiway depending on speed.
If I travel above 90 mph most of the time in hilly terrain mpg can drop to 17-18mpg.
In town my best is usally 16 mpg but I drive a lot short distances in warm up mode.
toatl ownership costs are ridiculously low when compared to BMW 7 series MB S class, in which leageu this car is and in some ways superior.
But if you come from an Accord or Sentra, running costs, can be quite a shock.
These cars have some hi speed abilities simply above and beyond normal cars and can maintain very hi speeds for longer than many sports cars.
Check the Infiniti Speeding Stories thread in Infiniti General to get an idea.
But Rex is right they are not for the budget minded if a sudden $1500 expense would be a real problem for your famnily dont buy it.
They are extremely realiable ,just that as they are older now, routine stuff is gonna come up and I never walked out of a delear paying less than $600 and usually $1000-2000.
But now I have a near perfect Q, that compares well to many brand new $45,000 cars.
No regrets,
Fred...
