BB - Check this deal - it's a gem.

Keep in mind, as a low-end car, MOST G20's have been severely ragged out by now... With affordability comes lack of maintenance.

Love the Q.

They are ridiclously cheap to buy ,for what they are.early Q's are (in todays dollars) $60,000 ma-cheens, and were a bargain at that price.

They have depreciated by $55,000.

A Q is a blessing if you get a good one (for example if someone were to buy mine, I predict no major expenses for a year maybe 2 or more)If you get a neglected one make sure its real cheap and understand that it may need $5000 to get into 90% as new condtion.

90% as new condtion is my personal standard some PPL accept 85% others want 100% and the average driver makes do with 60%.

I am on my fourth Q45.Last Q totaled pics of the ivory one and my current dark green:http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....word=

the one before that sold given to friend, the one before that one lost to chain guides.

Owners tend to be passionate about them.

As for milage I get between 19 and 22 mpg on the hiway depending on speed.

If I travel above 90 mph most of the time in hilly terrain mpg can drop to 17-18mpg.

In town my best is usally 16 mpg but I drive a lot short distances in warm up mode.

toatl ownership costs are ridiculously low when compared to BMW 7 series MB S class, in which leageu this car is and in some ways superior.

But if you come from an Accord or Sentra, running costs, can be quite a shock.

These cars have some hi speed abilities simply above and beyond normal cars and can maintain very hi speeds for longer than many sports cars.

Check the Infiniti Speeding Stories thread in Infiniti General to get an idea.

But Rex is right they are not for the budget minded if a sudden $1500 expense would be a real problem for your famnily dont buy it.

They are extremely realiable ,just that as they are older now, routine stuff is gonna come up and I never walked out of a delear paying less than $600 and usually $1000-2000.

But now I have a near perfect Q, that compares well to many brand new $45,000 cars.

No regrets,

Fred...:)

I concur with all that Fred said.

My 95 has been spectacular. I would bet a paycheck that there's not a single car built in 94-96 that has the reliability, amenities price and performance of the Q45. Simple as that.

Thanks again for all of you alls input. As far as the Q goes, still a no no for we have a Cadillac STS, so, we know about frequent maintenance problems, for its a 4.6 Northstar and it has had its fair share of problems, (fuel pump, engine mounts, basic stuff messed up, injectors cleaned, some misc. electrical stuff, changing sparks are a stress for 4 are on top, 4 on the bottom, kinda hard with no jack, or at least haven't been able to get it back) Other than that, the STS is a solid car and when he punches it it goes, when we hit 80-85, feels like were doing about 50-60, very comfortable.

I had another discussion, and got him leaning towards the J30-I30, Sentra, 240sx area, likes the fact that the J is RWD too. Often we like to just fantasize about the Caddy and think how cool it would be to have supercharger, custom 2 1/4, 2 1/5 exhaust and what not, but being this is not a popular platform, thats out. Just for some knowledge, how bout the tunability of a J/I/Q? Sorry for the n00b questions, but never really cared for those, well except the Q's, and what kind of basic stuff could he get? Also, hes a big man, 6'3" and about 310lbs. He's big, but I have read that some of you guys that are tall have enough leg room in an S13 and S14. So, wondering about how he'd fit in one of those. Also found out, that if its a good enough deal, in our area, since hes not about to go pay shipping charges, but if its good, he would put up the money in a few weeks even. I live in Houston.

I30 would be teh most tunable as mechanicals are based on MAxima for which there is large aftermarket.

A Louisville NICO member named Hal has some 580 whp on his Max with a turbo kit.

The J doesnt have much aftremarket but can be had for same price used as I30 and is arguably more car.

As far as big, I'm pretty sure he can fit in any of these cars, though it may just come down to a seat test to be totally sure. A big ol' J would definitely get the job done, not too fond of the asthetics, personally, but that's just my opinion. Good luck!

Yeah, its going to be one of the cars mentioned before. There are a few 200sx se-r's in my area too, so, we'll just test drive and see. Very hard to find a J or an I with low enough miles, so it just might be a Sentra. Either way, it'll hopefully be some kind of Nissan.

As long as you keep it in the family, I don't think anyone here really minds!

I's and Maximas last for a long mileage, and they're both really roomy. But yeah, as its been said, I30s have better aftermarket since they're pretty much maximas. i believe you can turbo both of them, but i may be wrong. I know you can turbo the I30.

Test drove a 95 240sx today. Perfect for me and he really loved the way it looks. Haha, too bad though, he was very cramped. 240's are out of the question.
