the noise you're hearing is the change in air flow going into the intake. it didn't do that until i got the injen. yes, you have to shift hard, but it's not the clutch grinding dude.

trust me bro, its not the intake making that noise, that is the clutch. my car started making that noise around 9k miles when shifting hard and i didnt even have an intake. if it was a sucking sound coming from the intake it wouldnt be a screech, that screech is a mechanical noise, and sucking sound would be way more of a deeper tone, and would never sound like that.

btw you need to work on your launch!

You do have a sedan don't you?
i still would like to have the selection of gear ratios rather than having my car pick any ratio for me, so in that case

SEDAN 6MT FTW!

wasn't going for a 1/4 track record dude. the video was just for sound purposes. and again.......... the noise isn't the clutch. that would be more of a grinding sound, but what would i know - i wouldn't know the first thing about a clutch or really even what a standard transmission is. is my car cvt or 6mt or is there even a difference??

a grinding noise would be coming from the gears, a screeching noise on the other hand would be from the clutch. im not trying to play you for a fool or anything, but that noise is definately not from your intake. i have never heard an intake create a noise like that ever.

i just think its ridiculous that you think its the intake. i have a fujita short ram on my car, and when i go WOT and shift, my intake doesnt make a noise like that.

im just trying to let you know that my car has made a noise like that before, and still does it sometimes, and its not coming from the intake. take what you want from that, but thats just what i know.

The CVT is one of the biggest slosh of a transmission, its loud and doesn't let you go anywhere. Its good for daily driving but was not meant for track use. The 6speed is definitely better in nissans, like was said though the new european DSG's and SMG's are much better then the nissan CVT.

WTF!??! Dude, the CVT RockS! It's one of the better transmission's out in the market. Ever heard of no shift shock, and staying in the power band? I think its better for the track than regular automatics.

the only reason why 6 speed is faster is because Nissan de-tuned it! we've shown that before it hits 90 MPH stick and CVT are going the same speed! stick was like .1 faster in the 1/8 mile because you can launch a manual at a higher RPM. get the ECU tuned to not let off at 90 and CVT will win on the streets. get the ECU tuned and and get some sort of launch control and anyone with a CVT could tie the best manual driver and smoke the **** out of an average driver with manual.. all this PLUS we never get shift shock, never have trouble going uphill, never want to kill our selves in traffic. don't get me wrong, i like manual (even wanted it in my A/C) but i'm happy with CVT and it's smoothness and its speed.

I agree not hurting performance at all. The only thing hurting performance is the inability to adjust it like some other automatics...But keeping the rpms in the peak range is a good thing..I have run a 2004 Accord EXV6/ G6 GT and had no problems

Also if you look at the stock CVT times as compared to the stick times even though the 6 speed is lighter and doesent have the part throttle after 90 or 100mph crap the times are similar

yeah I drive a cvt murano right now and it sucks, it doesn't really allow for big hp mods like forced induction, great for gas mileage but it was not meant for performance.

Dude, how can the CVT be not meant for performance if it allows you to stay in the power band aka high RPMs continuously?

I understand when you say it isn't easy to mod with CVT, but honestly, bone stock, CVT is very good for acceleration

just because it allows you to stay in the high rpms does not mean its meant for performance, its just for the daily driver to make passing easier, I'm sorry but in my opinion the cvt is one of the biggest slosh of a transmission and WAY to expensive to fix if it breaks.
