I wouldn't suggest cutting the springs. There are alot of downfalls to cutting the springs ranging from, not getting them cut evenly causing poor cornerweighting and over all poor performance, to poor ride quality.

Your best bet would be to go with a set of lowering springs, like Tein S.Techs. This would be the more reliable, and better performing option.

Cutting springs is never good. Besides screwing over your ride, your shocks would be dead in no time.

The only positive I can think of is a very short-lived increase in performance (lower center of gravity, but then the shocks blow and all hell breaks loose), and of course, looking lower.

It'd be best to just save your time and keep saving your cash until you can do it right.

Cut two coils off, then come back and tell us how it goes. Make sure to do some high speed testing! :D

Dont drift because the magazines tell you to please.

Dont cut your springs, its a cheap-a$$ solution and its just plain ghetto. Why ghetto out such an amazing chassied car? Dude, Tein S.Tech springs or something worth putting on the 240 isn't expensive at all if you get on ebay. They are on there all the time for like 130 bucks. Thats not expensive, and even if you think it is, at least you would be getting quality stuff to put on your car. My buddy but tein s-tech's on his '97. Looks great. He gets it sideways alot and drives hard, so his shocks blew relatively quickly, but thats what you can expect if you are going to be bottoming the shocks out alot.

since you're new and dont seem like a jerk, we'll go easy on you. the rule of thumb is dont buy from ebay unless its a name brand, and even then make sure its from a good source. we've had too many new guys buying that junk off EGay and then something BAD happens. dont get no-name parts off ebay unless you want to buy more thanjust that stuff to fix your car.

And yea those are cheap and I wouldn't advise buying those, but that is my point. You can find stuff on ebay, good stuff, for under like 200 bucks, trust me.

not so much pissed us off, it's just that cutting the springs really won't give a stiffer ride at all.

we want things done right round here.

Oh yea man I didn't mean to come off as pissed or anything, I just want you to get stuff for your car that will actually inprove the car and make you happy, and cutting the springs will not accomplish that. Tein's are worth what you pay, trust me. Tein is a great suspension company, I would trust their products.

H&R, Tein, Eibach would be my order of companies, personally. However, I'm hearing things about Tanabe and it seems like Skunk2 makes some. If anybody knows about those, then go for it...

having ur priorities in check is important here. if u want the car to handle good dont take the cheap way out, but dont get ripped off either. used parts can be as good as new ones but new parts r frequently warantied or garuntied. more importantly u sound like a novice... no offence, but dont do somthing silly like wreak ur car on a main road and bring the heat down on fellow drifters in ur area

will cause bump steer, premature wear of shocks, and will cause you to be laughed at by people who do things the right way ;)
