Yet I am not going to be racing/drifting or whatever any time soon so I just wanted the look for now. so yup I have had this setup for about 6mo and I didnt like how it looked. I will see how it handles in the near future, but so far it is really good. I know this is a forum and your entitled to your opinion so THANK YOU.. lol

on my first s13 i indeed cut my springs... (stock 1s) ill tell you this...

it looked like the best drop ever! loved the stiffness of it...

but it was a thing that i regret doing... it F*cked up my car...BIG TIME!on the freeways or on the road... when it starts to bounce out of hand like if you was hitting switches... with every one looking at you like "what a retard"

not to mention cops! yes they know when you have cut springs by looking at your ride bounce or should i say it in a cop/ticket language "UNSAFE SUSPENTION" get it the piont?

i kicked my self all the time... why didnt i just wait!

Damn, you took that -very- well. Its nice to see someone accept criticism when they post a thread asking for opinions.

In the end its your car, but NICO is generally more focused on reliable and performance oriented mods that dont hinder safety. In all reality, I doubt cutting your springs is going to end up totaling your car. But, you will be going through shocks like I go through Jordans..

Congratulations rowdogg03, you are now worth of being a NICO member!!!

You are able to accept good intelligent info, constructive critisism, and relatively miniscule amounts of ball busting without getting butt hurt and running away crying.

Or getting in a pissing match back at other members. Im so sick of people asking for opinions, and then crying when people criticize them.

I am not too familiar with GR2's but I do know the sportlines are the most performance/sport oriented spring offered by Eibach and are inteded to give a decent drop with great handling characteristics.

If you go to the eibach site they should tell you a good desription of these particular model springs.

As for struts I do know that AGX's are the best struts you can get for lowering applications on a 240sx.

If you plan on staying with the strut/spring combo I would ride the GR2's to replacement and then switch to the AGX's..... or save for a decent set of coilovers like stance or megans. I personally run KSports and they work great and give me all the setting options I need and were relatively priced in comparison to new struts. I am however going to start messing around with spring rates to see if I can reduce some of the somewhat harsh ride vs other higher level brand coilovers. I only paid $750 shipped for the so you might want to consider the depending on your budget. If you do get KSport's I recommend runnind a 7kg/6kg setup.
Well, thanks for the advice and help. I hope to park my car in about 4 months and make it a project car, so I guess I won't have to worry too much cause I will be going with coilovers. Just wanted to know for future reference. I was thinking about Megans too, I'll check out the Ksports as well.

I've always had the impression that GR2s are basically OEM replacements. So I wouldn't expect them to do any better than stock shocks would on a lowered car.

doesnt matter if you're not racing/drifting whatever.

it affects safety whenever you drive your car.

driving less than 30 mph you might survive...

driving 80+mph on the highway if you hit a pothole, then you might not see your car again.

coz your car now doesnt respond like it normally would.

take it off while your car is still nice
