Gauging intrest on making some custom mash up bumpers for you guys. The Idea would be to make a master copy and make fiberglass molds of it to have the cost cheaper for everyone. Production would be limited so the bumper keeps its uniqueness. If this is something you all would be intrested in chime in. This is a Q50/Y50 Mash up.

I have already shared this on the M Facebook page and people are interested in it.

Update: I have already talked with a company about making a mold and its looking to be around $800 each bumper not including shipping.

If you guys have any other ideas on bumper mash up please comment below and i will get a rendering of how it will look.

Please keep in mind you will still need to get Fog light Covers/Bezels, Mesh, Chrome Trim and anything else the bumper will need to finish it up.

Once we all decide on a bumper design i will get everything molded together and post photos of fitment. If you would like the bumper after that it will be on preorder bases only. I will have record of people that bought and will save the mold incase you damage the bumper later on and wish to get another made.

If you guys have any questions please chime in.

(Also i will not be making a mold of my Aero Mash up at this time sorry)

$800 is not bad at all and I will be down to pre-order. Whats the cost for the" Fog light Covers/Bezels, Mesh, Chrome Trim and anything else the bumper will need to finish it up"?

all of that will have to be purchased through dealer or found online. I had a idea of copying the fog light covers and sell them also maybe in a carbon fiber as well to help you guys from buying so much from the dealer.

This fits the 2006 model Y50 right? And will the stock grill fit that current design that you have? I am just wondering because I have a Balsarini grill that I want to keep still, but Il like to get that bottom section that you have. As long as it fits my Balsarini grill then I want one

i think i will be using the 08 top half. you can still use a 06 grill you just have to widen the slits out where the grill mounts. easy mod i know there is a right up on here how to do it.

How soon are you looking to get that Q50/Y50 mash up you have posted in the OP done? I dont think I saw a time frame listed yet.

Also, any plans on doing custom rear bumper mashups too? Or just sticking to fronts?

i hope to have the bumpers done this month. I am still looking for a q50 front bumper (trying to find one with fog bezels so i can made a mold of them too).

rears would be harder just because of the different in tail lights from 06 to 08 i would have to make a mold of both a 06 and a 08.

i will update the post as soon as i get everything together

i think the one you have pictured here looks really good and flows with the lines of the M. IDK how the sport q50 would look witht he different angels it has on it.

I think the q50 sport is to sharp edged. this one in the pic is perfect and of some one want to ad a q50 lip then they can do on there own. The y50 is rounded the q50 sport is more angles

Update:

Went with the non sport q50 bumper (same as in the photoshop) because of the hard line the q50s has at both ends of the bumper.

This is just a quick test fit to see where things will line up. It's looking promising so far. Next step will to find out where i will cut the two bumpers to start the merge process.

More updates to come.

I love the fact that you're willing to be a trail blazer for the Y50 guys. Wish you'd get a Y51 so you can do the same for our group :P.

Good work man!

X2 on that my brother, love the aero look, was going to get my sport bumper repainted because as you know, the paint is real thin and that is a known problem for our rides. If this comes out, I can just buy this one instead. That bumper is a nice mod. Do you have a picture of the m37 mash up? I was reading somewhere in the title that you did this on your Facebook page , can you post a picture of it? Thanks.

When I bought a bumper last time (just an old stock bumper) it was shipped via Greyhound and cost about $75 to ship it half way across the country. So when it comes time you should check into them.
