i have a 91 240sx hatch with a 93 motor and transmission with headers and ram air intake, i took the lower half of the ram air off and moved the filter back up top and all the sudden it was spitting and spuddering and would not idle or drive so i unpluged the mass air and it ran fine in safe mode i tested the mass air and it was fine, does any one have a clue what might be wrong every thing looks ok?

Think Basic.

If all was well and you moved somthing and it went to crud then look closly at what you moved.

My bet is either a bad/damaged wire or you knocked some other connector loose when you moved the air intake.

Review what you did and you will probably find it.

MAF and TPS are all that come to mind in that vicinity to cause said issues... Get out your voltemeter and start testing continuity and voltage. I assume you already have cleaned your MAF and air filter. A quicky diagnoses for the TPS and MAF you've already started. Unplug MAF and run the engine. Note how it runs (or doesn't) then turn off the engine. Plug the MAF back in and unplug the TPS and run the engine. Note how it runs (or doesn't) then turn off the engine. Only one is really needed to run okay, but engine won't hardly work at all with both failing. Good luck.
