Pages 14-17 of your "installation" manual. Menu # 2, feature 5. If you do not have this let me know and I can email you the pages.

Nope, just hook it up and set the sensitivity on the proximity sensor.

Nothing... unless of course you want to add actuators into the doors so you have power locks. I sell the 2 actuators and relay pack for $25.

The VSS5000 runs $269 shipped. If you are installing it yourself, I will also activate it over the phone for you. The 2 actuators and relay pack runs another $25.

I bought a car that already has the alarm in it. But it doesn't seem to be working right. I think the horn maybe dead and I'm going to need new remotes anyways because one got water logged on a biking trip and the other is pretty much falling apart. I don't need something with remote start, just alarm and keyless entry. Would you recommend getting a new alarm or trying to repair/piece together the bad parts from the old one and get new remotes? I may also interested in having a trunk release if you sell that as well.

Give me a model # for the unit and I'll tell you if it's cost effective to fix. Regardless, it's usually not much more to simply buy a new system... the remotes are expensive by themselves. And if it's an older model, then I would highly recommend buying a new system.

It's either a 3000 or a 3002...Not sure of which it is because my car is actually at a shop and not at my house. But I found the remote that came with the car on viper's website and its this one

LOL, that is the worst remote Viper has ever made, by far.

I definitively would not mess with buying 2 new remotes and fixing whatever else is wrong with it. Those remotes have a tendency to just not work from time to time.

Oh...so that's why its awful..ha..I figured it was because he wired it himself. So which would you recommend?? And how hard would it be to install?? I pretty much have my car gutted at the moment so I figured it'd be that much easier to give it a try.

Are you wanting just security or security/remote start? I like the 3303 for security only and the 5901 for security/remote start. These are also nice because you can add the Smart Start to either one of them.

Just security. I have a manual and I know you can do the remote start on em but you basically have to do a sequence of tasks before you get out of a car and I just don't see myself doing that dance every time I get home...lol

Also I'm curious about the install...they guy who owned the car before me used some type of connecter to tie into random lines along the harness. Is this the way it should be done? I had a slow drain on my battery and figured this may be the culprit. My other guess was the motor harness, because it was nothing but butt connectors everywhere...

I solder and tape everything!

So are you wanting a 1-way or 2-way alarm?

Definitely a 2 way...I know how to solder, just not 100% sure of what wires to tap into. I've never installed an alarm before...just speakers and head units

Hey I'm looking to getting the Viper 3303 and the Digital Tilt Motion Sensor and was wondering how much that would run me shipped. I found just the alarm itself for $180 online. Another question I had was that on Viper's website it says that it doesn't come with a shock sensor does this mean if some one hits it or something that it won't trigger the alarm? I'm new too alarms and all so sorry if its a newb question.

Also I currently have an alarm installed in my car but its a piece of crap. How much will I need to do to install this one.

Thanks in advance.

I would be more than happy to price match IF that place is an authorized Viper dealer. Otherwise I don't price match against some fly-by-night place selling out of warehouse that has no clue about the product they are selling. I am an authorized dealer for every product/brand I sell and have been for 20 years. I can do $235 shipped for the combo.

Thanks,

Toby

Looking for Viper Responder One ----- Forum Price: $149 Shipped! 2-Way Remote Start Only . Is it compatible with Murano 2011?
Do I need additional parts to install it? How hard is it to install? I am a motorcycle Mechanic. I just need the remote starter..... Is this the right choice?

Thanks
