Last night was one of the scariest most adrenaline filled nights of my life. I went to a club with a couple of friends in Bensenville and the party just ended. I'm sitting in my car with my friend who was DJing. We were parked next to my friends Jetta VR6. We're just chillin there and all the sudden some dumbass in a Mazda 626 goes behind me, does a donut, and as he's speeding away he clips my front bumper. Instead of stopping like any normal person would do he guns it and tries to run. I think to myself "hell no hes not getting away" and go right after his ***. I chase him for a good 10 minutes on the streets running stop sighns and hittin speeds of 80 on long straightaways between factories. We come to a red light and he decides to run in and go strraight into some neighborhood. So now we're on a straightaway with houses and driveways on the left and a forest on the right. He's maybe 15-20 car lengths ahead of me when he decides to turn of his lights (BIG MISTAKE) I turn on my brights to try to keep with him and then I see his brake lights go up. He stopping and is'nt goin anywhere and im goin like 60 right at him. I slam on the brakes and ABS kicks in but its no good I keep goin at him. Right before its too late I turn my wheel all the way and pull the handbrake. This makes me slide sideways right at him. I'm just sittin there thinking "please dont hit him, please dont hit him" and the car stops like 2 feet from his back bumper. Me and my friend get out but the 2 guys in the Mazda are still sitting in there. They stopped only because they hit one of those really thick metal fences(kinda like the ones on the side of highways) The whole front end of the Mazda is messed up hoods bent up, windshield broken, the airbags even went off. As were looking at their damage the driver and passenger come out, both of them are drunk as hell. One of thems like "WTF is goin on man" " where the **** are we" I'm like "why the **** did u dumbasses run" the idiot drivers said "I thought you guys were cops man, i thought we were gonna be ****ed" so after some more talkin I grab all their info and plates and just get the hell outta there before cops show up.

The damage to my car is'nt the bad, theres just a scratch on the corner of my bumper and one of the bolts probly broke of because it pops out about 1/2 an inch where it meets the fender. If i can get my hands on a digi cam I'll post some pics up.

I'm gonna go get an estimate on the damage and call the guy up tommarow. If he decides that he does'nt wanna pay me what action can i take since I did get his plates and info?

Thanks for reading guys

You can go to the cops. Don't let him get away with it. I'd chase his *** too.

Dude. It was the middle of the night. They are drunk out of their minds. They do a donut into your car and end up running into a metal fence because they were driving with their lights off and you were afraid you were gonna get in trouble? I dont think the cops would care that you followed him. You had every right to get his information.

I would think if you go to the cops now they may charge you with leaving the scene of an accident. Depending on what the other guys may say.

i would have waited for the cops, because i think they would understand that you chased him. a cop also cannot give you a speeding ticket unless they personally see you speeding. also, these guys should be in jail, and thanks to you they are roaming the streets.

You felt bad for these pieces of sh*t? I'll tell you what you would feel bad about... hitting a kid while driving like that through a neighborhood.

I'd have *****ing torn them out of the car and god help me if I would have used the lead pipe that stays in my back seat. They were driving drunk recklessly through a neighborhood, and you felt bad for them??

look im only 16, these guys weren't much older. both of them ****ed up bad. having a DUI at this age would would **** them up for the rest of their lives. if my car was in worse shape then i woulda called the cops but not for a few scratches and a broken bolt. anyways it just got done talkin to him and i told him i wanted $250 for the damage. he said fine no problem and im meeting him up later to get my money.

Yea, no significant loss to you, but now they still have their license and will prob go do something extremely stupid again. There obviously not mature enough to have a license. Think about it driving at night drunk speeding with their lights off!! what if someone pulled out because they couldnt see them and they killed someone? What if someone else was chasing them, and it was you who pulled out in front of them? Im sorry I would have pulled them out of the car and beat their *** just for putting my life in danger like that! I wouldnt feel sorry for them at all they would have got what they deserved.

come on guys, cut him some slack, why does the victim become the victimized all of the sudden? Would any of you guys, truthfully at 16 yrs of age, having gone through a life and death experience not but a few seconds ago, really excercise "vigilante" justice on someone who is obviously deprived of judgment and 2 years older than you? I mean, sure you could probably kick their ***, but they could also have a knife/baseball bat/or something of the sort. Not to mention that kicking his *** and putting justice into your own hands equates or lower you to his/their level.

yeah not many 16 yr olds would go after someone like that. if it had been me i woulda done the same, except i would have beat their a$$es for putting me in that situation. you acted fairly responsibly, going after them, getting their info and getting the hell out of there, not making it worse. but next time, call the cops and tell them what happened so that they can pick these idiots up, and dont ever endanger yourself or anyone else

It doubles as a breaker bar extension. :pface Is it now illegal to carry tools in your car?

I actually have heard that it is illegal to carry stuff like that before. Ive Never actually seen the law on paper though. It may be heresay. Do you know where its written? I would be interested in reading the exact wording of the law. Either way, I took out the louisville slugger when I heard that. Cuz I definitely DONT play baseball.

To Adikt, I understand why you left... being only 16. I guess as you grow older, you will understand why some of us would not have done the same. Im not saying physical violence solves anything but calling the cops would have been a good idea.

Adikt i know what you feel like bro and been through something similar.

Back in August I was heading to my old job to get my schedule for the week and we have a back road with doctor's offices. It connects to a long curve road with a Bi-Lo and a Zaxby's (my old job) then goes to a main road from the highway.

Anyway, i was on the back road making a left to the curved road, and this dumbass behind me in a plymouth something tries to cut me off while i'm making the turn.

So i'm making the turn and here comes smart guy and clips my driver's side bumper (pretty bad too that whole side had to be replaced). I rock in the van (99 venture) for a bit and he drives off. I'm like "***** NO" and i chase him down the curved road and get his plates. (4 banger chevy van power *grunt*)

I pull into my work and park. get out of my car and cuss for a bit kick my tire out of frustration and call the cops.

Turns out the same guy who hit me got stopped by the same cop who took care of me a week earlier and got his license revoked.

Everything is cool now though my mom's van is fixed up and stuff and life goes on.

I really dont know why you would chase someone like that to get there and go home. Im 17 and i definately wouldve done it charged with a DUI. thats great logic... lets let this idiot who does donuts in a drunken stuper get off so he can do it again and kill someone.

240SXedUp, he chased them down to get their plates, and information in order to get his bumper paid for, idiot. Also, the cops would probably just say that they were racing...

Give him a break, he did the right thing...

im 16 too and i would have done the exact same thing. if they were dumb enough to race through a neighborhood with their lights off, will their drunk asses think of some stupid reason that their crashing is YOUR fault and whip out a weapon, not thinking that they could kill someone with it and try to get into a fight?drinking messes with your head and destroys any judgement you have. You did the right thing.Michael
