Quote »240SXedUp, he chased them down to get their plates, and information in order to get his bumper paid for, idiot.
No... he could've either just stayed in the parking lot or he couldve chased them down and got their insurance info too. I wouldn't risk my life to get some plate numbers. Anyone can get plate numbers they are on the back of the car. If he didnt want to make them feel bad then he shouldve chased them. Feeling bad for idiots like that costs lives. Ive known people that have died from idiot drunk drivers. But do whatever you want.Quote »Also, the cops would probably just say that they were racing...
Lets look at some facts. 1) Eyewitnesses to donut in parking lot. 2) The other driver's intoxication at the scene of the accident. 3) The damage at the front of your car. 4) the front of his car ****ed up. I gotta tell you. After the hollywood style car chase i wouldnt be afraid of a couple of cops thinking i was street racing

240kid:It was obvious from his statement that the driver was barely coherant, let alone hostile. You dont have to sit on their laps. You can sit in your car while the cops show up. Its not like it would take 45 minutes

Well I guess everything fell into place. I met up with him today (bringing a few of my friends along) he coughed up the $250 i wanted, apologized again and drove off. So it's all done now, and i guess i can look forward to a new bumper.

And for you guys who want to know why i didn't call the cops heres my reasons.

1. In Illinois we have a curfew law and basically between 12 and 6 am if you're under 18 your liscense is invalid. So the cop could have given me a ticket for an invalid liscense, a ticket for being out past curfew, and he also could have impounded my car

2. I just wanted to get their plates to make sure that they would pay to fix my car. I had no idea that they were gonna crash into a fence and total their car. I didn't want to be involved in them hitting the fence at all which could have happened.

3. I didn't no where the hell I was after chasing him and I didn't feel like knockin on someones door at 3 am to ask for a phone.

Trust me if you guys were in my place you would have done the same thing as me. Cops aren't always the best solution.

All of you say about having a pipe to beatsomeone but what happens when they shoot you in self-defense you have a deadly weapon also in the courts eyes.

What about when there's multiple attackers though? I once mouthed off to two car loads of guys...luckily for me they didn't do anything and probably just thought I was insane.

You got a watch it though, there's some crazy mofos out there. You never know what the other person is thinking or what they're gonna do though. I probably would've done the same thing, since you don't really have time to think when it happens. I'm thinking of getting a cell phone just for emergencies.

damn, are those extra special mag lites or something? i bought my 6D for like $17.99.

nathan: you're not looking very hard if you can't find the 6D. i can think of several stores that stock them.

There also used to be a 2 cell extension that I haven't seen for years. I used to have a 6D with 2D extension that got stolen a few years ago. Now that was more of a weapon than a flashlight :pface

Is it really 18? I'm from Chicago, and I thought it was 17.

Since he was drunk I would have just stole his wallet then slapped him and ran. It'd been funny.

I live in Florida and we have a curfew thing like that too. I think it is 16 cant drive after 11 and 17 cant drive after 1am. I didnt think they could restrict an adults driving hours. Besides, i got into a wreck in my mom's car when i was 16 (it was the drunken hillbillies fault) and it was like 11:15 and my mom asked the cop if it was ok that i drove home because it was pass my curfew and he was confused. He though it was a curfew my mom imposed on me. We told him what it was and he told us something weird like it didnt apply or something. He had no idea what he was talking about. Long story short... the cop hadnt heard of the curfew

Your right, I havent really...just looked at lowes, home depot, and wal mart when I've been in there and havent seen them recently. Wal Mart used to always have them, I just never wanted to spend the money :(
